yes i do know about the tooth enamel problem.i dilute 4 tablespoons in a full 16 oz. glass of water,and when i finish drinking it i rinse my mouth with clean plain water.no problem so far.remember vinegar and lemon juice are very acidic,but when ingested in the body they turn into a alkaline substance.

I'd like to thrown in something that this information does not, and that an acidic body is a body which has an excess of H+, apple cider vinegar will help you here greatly.

This needs to be properly addressed, it is key to any regimen no matter what it is you're focusing on (DHT blocking, probiotics, diet, etc).

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF ACIDITY IN THE HUMAN BODY


Over acidification of the body (cells, tissues and fluids) is the greatest contributor to illness.

Acidification leads to the buildup of toxins, as well as the growth of dangerous microforms like yeasts (Candida), fungi and harmful bacteria.


This toxicity leads to stress and eventual sickness. Modern daily diets and lifestyles create this acidic environment in your body.

The pH level (acid - alkaline measurement) of your internal fluids affects every cell in your body. Your body regulates its pH level just like it regulates its temperature. In doing so, it will even create stress on other tissues or body systems if it must.

Since your blood MUST maintain a very narrow pH range of 7.365 to 7.40, you body will do all sorts of things in order to deal with excess acidity

It will flush excess acids into fat cells (which is why you can't seem to loose those extra kilos). Or perhaps it will leach calcium (an alkaline mineral) from your bones in order to neutralize acids.

Your body will also stress tissues by flushing acids into them (as is the case with gout) because it can't dump these acids into the bloodstream (which must remain alkaline or you'd die).


Simply stated, chronic over acidity will interrupt all cellular activities and functions - it interferes with life itself

When the pH of your body becomes too acidic you may experience low energy, fatigue, excess weight, poor digestion aches and pains and even more serious disorders.

The great news is that when you get your pH in balance, you have really set the stage for optimal health.

Vibrant health and energy are the direct result of a body that's pH balanced.


Acidosis – What is it?

Acidosis:

Is the basic foundation of all disease. We need to understand the simple process of alkalizing our body and the important role a properly alkalized body plays in restoring and maintaining our overall health. Our glands and organs function properly in exact proportion to the amount of alkaline and acid levels in our system.

The Impact Of Acidosis On The Organs:

Heart:

The heart is one of the most alkaline-dependent organs in the body. It is partly innervated by the vagus nerve which functions best in an alkaline environment. Correct heartbeat is altered by acid wastes. These wastes rob the blood of proper oxygenation and degeneration of the heart follows. An alkaline system creates an ideal heart function.

Stomach:

Digestive difficulties (belching, bloating, and sensitivity at the waist, intestinal gas, regurgitation, hiccups, lack or limitation of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and colic in children) may indicate vagus nerve problems and possible hiatal hernia syndrome, which can produce acid residue throughout the system. Hiatal hernia can quickly reduce necessary hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Without proper hydrochloric acid breakdown of foods, the foods become too acidic.

Liver:

The liver has over three hundred functions, including processing acid toxins from the blood and producing numerous alkaline enzymes for the system and is your first line of defense against any poisons. All the nourishment obtained through the gastrointestinal tract enters the blood by way of the liver. The load on the liver is much heavier when acid waste products are constantly floating in the blood. If the liver becomes too congested with protein acid wastes, death is imminent.

Pancreas:

The pancreas is highly dependent on correct alkaline diet. All aspects of pancreatic function reduce excess acidity and regulate blood sugar balance. To have proper blood sugar balance, you must maintain a primarily alkaline-forming diet.

Small Intestines:

The Peyer’s Patches, in the upper portion of the small intestines are crucial to life. They are essential for proper assimilation of food and producing lymphocytes for the lymphatic system’s wide ranging nodal network. They also produce large amounts of the enzyme ‘chyle’, which is a major alkalizing substance. The uninterrupted flow of chyle into the system is crucial. Too much acid waste production from acid-forming foods is a great burden on the Peyer’s Patches, which lessens the production of chyle.

Kidneys:

In an adult, about 1 liter of blood per minute passes through the kidneys. By executing their primary duty, the kidneys keep the blood alkaline and extract acid. Kidneys that are overstressed with too much acidity create kidney stones, which are composed of waste acid cells and mineral salts that have become gummed together in a waste acid substance. Therefore, by reducing acid-forming products from entering the body, the chances are better that you can avoid this painful condition.

Colon:

The colon must be kept clean of accumulated acid wastes. Poisons collect on the colon walls and in cases of diarrhea or constipation will harden and reabsorb into the bloodstream. Good bowel action (complete elimination) must be done at least 2 times per day.

Lymphatic System:

There are 600-700 lymph glands in the body. Lymph fluid carries nutrition to the cells and removes acid waste products. Lymph fluid flows best in an alkaline environment. When the body is overly acidic, it slows, creating one of the most chronic, long-term, life-threatening situations. Gradually, the lymph dries and begins to form very tiny to very large adhesions through the tissues. These adhesions can interfere not only with lymph fluid but with blood flow as well. Hindered lymph flow increases tissue acid storage. Not drinking enough purified water will also slow the lymph. Waste products from foods that are not properly digested are reabsorbed into general circulation via the lymphatic ducts of the small intestine. In addition, bowel movements that do not completely clear the body of its daily poisons are also reabsorbed.

Drinking sufficient water (preferably ionized / alkaline water) will assist the removal of toxins and acidic waste from cells.

Food Combining:

will greatly improve digestion and avoid indigestion.

Vinegar is one of many foods created by bacteria and yeasts. Most vinegars start from crushed fruit or grains and exposed first to yeasts and later to bacteria. The yeast ferments the sugars in the fruit to create alcohol. Then, specific bacteria break down the alcohol to form acetic acid, the main component of vinegar.

Vinegar can be made from any fruit, many grains, and even wood chips! Starches are first converted to sugars to begin the fermentation process. The source will determine the vinegar result.

For instance, from apples, we get hard cider first and then apple cider vinegar. Grapes are made into wine and then wine vinegar. Balsamic vinegar is specially made from Trebbiano or Lambrusco grapes under delicate conditions. Hops and barley are made into beer and then into malt vinegar (the starch converts to maltose). Rice is made into sake or rice wine and then rice vinegar. Distilled white vinegar is the most familiar and processed from common grains. Other vinegars can be made from coconuts, pineapples, cactus fruits, and herbs along with a variety of sugar sources – molasses, sorghum, honey, beets, potatoes, melons, or maple syrup to get the process started.

Acids
The acids in apple cider vinegar improve digestion and deter the growth of disease-causing bacteria in the digestive tract. The minerals (potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium) bind to the acids and neutralize them when the digestive tract needs to be more alkaline.

Acetic acid is formed only by the Acetobacter family of bacteria. These bacteria are found everywhere in food, water, and soil and is naturally produced as fruits spoil. In humans and other primates, acetic acid is a component of the female vagina, where it serves as an antibacterial.

The acetic acid content of vinegar will determine its use and varies according to the fruit or grain used to start with. Rice wine vinegar is quite mild with a low acid level making it a good choice for salad dressings. On the other end of the scale is distilled white vinegar which is highly acidic and suitable for making pickles. All other vinegars fall in between.

Malic acid, in particular, is the main digestive acid found in apple cider vinegar as well as in our own body cells. It has many health benefits, including boosting immunity, maintaining good oral health, reducing the risk of toxic heavy metals, and promoting good skin tone. Its most significant contribution is the ability to stimulate the metabolism and increase energy production.

Apple Cider Vinegar Nutrition
Apple cider vinegar is a concentration of acids, flavonoids, polyphenols, pectin, enzymes, minerals, and amino acids that form during fermentation. Scientists have found about 90 different substances in apple cider vinegar, including 13 kinds of carbolic acids, 4 aldehydes, 20 ketones, 18 types of alcohols, 8 ethyl acetates and much more.

Nutrients include:

* Acids – acetic, isobutyric, lactic, malic, and propionic
* Amino acids – the number and amount depends on its source with some having antioxidant properties.
* Beta-carotene – helps prevent cancer and protects the body against damage caused by exposure to toxic chemicals
* Boron – is found abundantly in fresh apples. It is a key mineral that assists other bone-building minerals also found in apple cider vinegar like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.
* Enzymes – are built from protein molecules and have many duties in the body. Those suffering from indigestion, gas, or bloating lack the essential digestive enzymes needed to digest food properly. Fresh apples are loaded with enzymes, which increase as vinegar is made. This is why it is important to buy apple cider vinegar with the mother. That way you know the precious enzymes and nutrients have not been destroyed in processing.
* Magesium – is needed for bone health as well as for proper muscle function, including the heart where it can strengthen the beat and help normalize blood pressure.

* Pectin – is a soluble fibre that can absorb water, toxins, and cholesterol in the digestive tract. Apple cider vinegar contains valuable pectin from the apples and will go a long way in improving heart health and regularity.
* Potassium – is stripped from processed foods and replaced by sodium. To make matters worse, caffeine and sugar take what little is left in the diet because both act as diuretics, flushing valuable nutrients out of the body. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent source of potassium, giving roughly 100 mg per 3.5 ounces.

* Tannins – are released from the crushed cells of the apple. Tannins are the red-gold plant chemicals that give plants and various fruits and vegetables their astringency. They are effective antioxidants that help to prevent spoilage.
* Other – During both fermentation processes, many new plant chemicals are formed. As yet, many remain unidentified and no doubt will add to apple cider vinegar’s growing list of health-giving substances.

I was drinking ACV in water VERY often when I was first trying to improve digestion. I also was eating a lot of fruit. Now this did improve my digestion TREMENDOUSLY, and my skin cleared up, scalp became healthier etc, but I destroyed the enamel on my teeth. I now have very sensitive teeth, especially if I eat fruit for a day or two or let too much acidic substances touch my teeth. I developed cavities and now I'm trying to fight them without going to the dentist, but it's an uphill battle and I'm struggling. Make sure to wash your teeth with baking soda or salt in water to counteract the acidity in the ACV or lemon after drinking it.

If you are having immediate issues with enamel, you could try using MIPaste (the kind without flouride). I had sensitive teeth because of weak enamel, and 3 months using MIPaste a few times a day cleared it up pretty well. It'll remineralize your teeth more quickly than the Vit K2/Vit A/Vit D3 combo will, but it won't rebuild as well in the long run. I'd look into if you're having serious issues right now, and hop on some teeth friendly supplements for the long run to grow some enamel on top of what was strengthened by the MIPaste.

The Role of Calcium

If the body becomes too acidic, the body will take calcium from wherever it can in order to retain a slightly alkaline blood pH. A compound called mono-ortho-calcium phosphate is the chemical buffer for the blood, and it is this buffer than maintains the alkaline level in your blood. Without it you would die, as death occurs if the acidity level of your blood changes even a little. This can make osteoporosis more likely. When the acid overload gets to be too much for the body, the excess acid is dumped into the lymphatic system, which then removes whatever it can. This is not an ideal solution as the lymphatic system will just put the acid waste straight back into the blood. The body also tries to excrete acid through the skin which is when skin problems such as irritation, acne, excess oils, inflammation, and boils can occur.

Acid/ Alkaline Balance

acidosisAcidosis - A medical condition in which the acid-base balance in the blood plasma is disturbed in the direction of excess acidity, the pH falling below 7.35.

Over acidity, which can become a dangerous condition that weakens all body systems, is very common today. It gives rise to an internal environment conducive to disease, as opposed to a pH-balanced environment which allows normal body function necessary for the body to resist disease.

A healthy body maintains adequate alkaline reserves to meet emergency demands. When excess acids (acidosis) must be neutralized, our alkaline reserves are depleted, leaving the body in a weakened condition.

Every day we wage our own private war against molds, yeasts, bacteria, viruses and fungi. By using antibiotics as the first line of defense we have encouraged the development of more powerful deadly bugs and bacteria.
Our immune systems are becoming weaker and over-taxed in this war. Louis Pasteur declared the germ theory of disease that states germs are the cause of disease. But note Dr. Pasteur's dying words: "The germ is nothing, the inner terrain is everything".

The concept of acid alkaline imbalance as the cause of disease is not new. In 1933 a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a ground-breaking book, A New Health Era in which he maintains that all disease is caused by autotoxication (or "self-poisoning") due to acidosis in the body.

Now we depart from health in just the proportion to which we have allowed our alkalis to be dissipated by introduction of acid-forming food in too great amount... It may seem strange to say that all disease is the same thing, no matter what its myriad modes of expression, but it is verily so.

A Simple Cause of Aging


Modern science has revealed that the cause of aging may be far more simple than previously thought.
Almost 99% of the components of food that we consume every day are composed of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen with only 1% been minerals.
The wastes produced from food are highly acidic and acidosis is one of the main contributors that lead to the aging process and various illnesses. Acid waste is excreted from the human body in the form of urine or sweat. But the wastes not excreted will be circulating around in the blood, in the body. This acidic waste will gradually accumulate somewhere in our capillaries blood vessels, and eventually clog them up. Also as a consequence of this, the cells of the human body will be deprived of their supply of oxygen and essential nutrients, rendering these cells inactive in reproduction. That's the main reason why people age. Moreover, with the capillary blood vessels clogged up, the function of every organ in the human body accumulating acidic waste will begin to deteriorate, causing serious illnesses in the long run.


So when does the accumulation of age-contributing acidic waste begin?
Scientists say that aging begins when a child starts to wean. An unborn child lives on nutrients from his mother while in the womb and the body of the baby becomes alkaline, owing to the consumption of alkaline minerals.
Naturally, this is due to the release of alkaline minerals from the mother. This release of alkaline minerals during pregnancy does temporarily weaken the mother's body, causing a lack of appetite etc.
The baby will remain alkaline while breast feeding, but will begin to reduce in alkalinity once put on infant cereals.

Reduce Acidosis for Longer Life

We live and die at the cellular level. All the billions of cells that make up our human body are slightly alkaline, and must maintain alkalinity in order to function and remain healthy and alive. However their cellular activity creates acid and this acid is what gives the cell energy and function. As each alkaline cell performs its task of respiration, it secretes metabolic wastes, and these end products of cellular metabolism are acid in nature.

Although these wastes are used for energy and function, they must not be allowed to build up. One example of this is the often painful lactic acid which is created through exercise. The body will go to great lengths to neutralize and detoxify these acids before they act as poisons in and around the cell, ultimately changing the environment of the cell. Most people and clinical practitioners believe the immune system is the body's first line of defense, but in actuality it is not. It is very important, but more like a very sophisticated clean-up service. We must instead look at the importance of pH balance as the first and major line of defense against sickness and disease and for health and vitality.

Drink Alkaline, Ionized Water

Drinking alkaline water is an easy and efficient way to help neutralize an acidic human body.
Water, the origin of Life, contains 2 parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. Alkaline water is water that contains a larger amount of oxygen as compared to hydrogen. By drinking alkaline water, we increase our intake of oxygen compared to drinking plain water. The advantage of drinking alkaline water is that while being absorbed by the body, it helps neutralize acidic wastes, making them more soluble in the blood vessels. Thus, acidic wastes will be easily drained out of the body in the form of urine or sweat.

If we were to ask what is killing us, the answer might be ACIDOSIS. It has been demonstrated that an acidic, anaerobic (lacking oxygen) body environment encourages the breeding of fungus, mold, bacteria, and viruses.


Let us look at an example. If we were to seal the door to our freezer and then unplug it, come back and open the door in two weeks, what would we find? Mold, bacteria and microscopic bugs that are growing and multiplying. Where did they all come from? They did not sneak in - remember the door was sealed. The answer is . . . they were always there.
It is simply that the environment changed to a more inviting and healthy one for these 'critters' to live in. This can be likened to a shift in our biological terrain from a healthy oxygenated, alkaline environment to an unhealthy anaerobic acidic environment. You see what is healthy for us is unhealthy for the body attackers and what is healthy for them is what is unhealthy for our body.


Understanding pH

pH (potential of hydrogen) is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is measured on a scale of 0 to 14 - the lower the pH the more acidic the solution, the higher the pH the more alkaline (or base) the solution. When a solution is neither acid nor alkaline it has a pH of 7 which is neutral.

Water is the most abundant compound in the human body, comprising 70% of the body. The body has an acid-alkaline (or acid-base) ratio called the pH which is a balance between positively charges ions (acid-forming) and negatively charged ions (alkaline-forming.) The body continually strives to balance pH. When this balance is compromised many problems can occur.

It is important to understand that we are not talking about stomach acid or the pH of the stomach. We are talking about the pH of the body's fluids and tissues which is an entirely different matter.

How to Test Your Body's Acidity Level

It is recommended that you test your pH levels to determine if your body's pH needs immediate attention. By using pH test strips, you can determine your pH factor quickly and easily in the privacy of your own home. There is much to discover so that pH test result can be meaningful.

Urine pH

The results of urine testing indicate how well your body is assimilating minerals, especially calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. These are called the "acid buffers" because they are used by the body to control the acid level. If acid levels are too high, the body will not be able to excrete acid. It must either store the acid in body tissues (autotoxication) or buffer it - that is, borrow minerals from organs, bones, etc. in order to neutralize acidity.

Saliva pH

You may also want to test the pH of your saliva. The results of saliva testing indicate the activity of digestive enzymes in your body, especially the activity of the liver and stomach. This reveals the flow of enzymes running through your body and shows their effect on all the body systems. Some people will have acidic pH readings from both urine and saliva. This is referred to as "double acid."

Keeping the Balance Right for Excellent Health

Your body is able to assimilate minerals and nutrients properly only when its pH is balanced. It is therefore possible for you to be taking healthy nutrients and yet be unable to absorb or use them. If you are not getting the results you expected from your nutritional or herbal program, look for an acid alkaline imbalance.
Even the right herbal program may not work if your body is struggling with acidosis.

One of the first warning signs of an acidic biological terrain is calcium deposits. In testing where calcium deposits come from, it has been shown that they come from the structural calcium of our bones and teeth and never from the calcium in our water or diet.
This is important because it means that if calcium deposits are forming, we know our inner biological terrain is too acidic. Our dietary intake of calcium is not keeping up with the calcium buffering needed and we are actively pulling calcium from our bones and teeth.

It all works like a little train, from the bones to the fluids and cells, to the blood. As our biological terrain becomes acidic, our pH level drops. When this happens we start losing calcium out of the blood, the bones, and the tissues. This is a safety mechanism. Now your biological terrain's oxygen level drops leaving you tired and fatigued, allowing fungus, mold, parasites, bad bacteria, and viral infections to flourish and gain a hold throughout the body. It is interesting to note that you often won't have just some of these invaders. If you have Candida you will likely have bad bacteria, fungus, and parasites because they all flourish in the same terrain.

Mild acidosis can cause such problems as:

* Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
* Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
* Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
* Immune deficiency.
* Acceleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations.
* Premature aging.
* Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
* Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
* Low energy and chronic fatigue.

A recent seven year study conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, on 9,000 women showed that those who have chronic acidosis are at greater risk for bone loss than those who have normal pH levels. The scientists who carried out this experiment believe that many of the hip fractures prevalent among middle aged women are connected to high acidity caused by a diet rich in animal foods and low in vegetables. This is because the body borrows calcium from the bones in order to balance pH.

The biggest problem scientists have found is that over time the human body becomes depleted of calcium. A compound called mono-ortho-calcium phosphate is the chemical buffer for the blood. This buffer maintains the alkaline level (or the lack of acidity) in your blood. Without it you would die. If the acidity level of your blood changes even slightly you die immediately. But in order to supply enough calcium for buffering we must have enough calcium being absorbed from our diet or our body will simply rob the needed calcium from our bones and teeth.

The more acidic we become, the harder it is for oxygen to be present, so our biological terrain also becomes more anaerobic. Without adequate oxygenation, unfriendly bacteria, viruses, molds, and fungus can live and prosper. Then our cells cannot carry on their life-giving functions in a very efficient manner because our biological chemical reactions need oxygen.

Some Common Diseases and their Relationship to Acidity

Cancer

While the normal cells of the human body degenerate, and acidic wastes accumulate, cancer will make a genetic transformation and keep propagating itself in order to survive in such acidic surroundings.

There have been two theories on the basic causes of cancer. One is the oxygen deficiency theory by a German biochemist, Dr. Warback. The other is the theory of acidic cells, by a Japanese doctor, Dr. Airashi.
Dr. Warback discovered that if oxygen is removed from a health cell, the cell will start to turn cancerous. Dr. Warback won the Nobel prize by proving this theory through his many experiments.
Dr. Airashi showed that cells that survive in acidic environments will eventually develop cancerous characteristics.

It talked about measuring the pH of your urine and saliva but didn't give a range unless I missed it. Should one assume that it should be the same as your blood pH?

action<reaction can weigh in on this,but i have never seen anyones urine ph that high personally.when you get your ph back into the 6 to 6.8 range you will be getting healthy.a urine ph of 6.8 is very good.everyone has acid in their system even the healthiest of people,but the difference is that when the ph is that high it will not be a problem at all.my program is what i consider a less acidic body not as much a true alkaline state.like i said earlier most sick people will have a urine ph of 5 to 5.8.the acid in a acidic toxic body cannot even hold up against vinegar taken on a daily basis it is no match for the vinegar.that is why the vinegar is so healing to the body,it cleans and flushes out the tissues through and through from the internal organs to the epidermis of the skin.i have noticed since my skin has lightened up some that i do not sun burn like i used to when my body was so acidic and i am very light complected with light brown to blonde hair and blue eyes.i keep getting surprised by the positive side effects this program has done for me.

I have no idea, nor do I know if it would be accurate if you tested it. My only advice here would be to listen to your body, it'll know when the pH is healthily feasible.

i do not know what you have been doing to raise your ph level,but sometimes when you are deacidifying the urine ph will still read low because the acids are sent to the kidneys for removal and if that is the case you will still get a low reading.the best thing to do is to stick with the program and you will know when your body is becoming healthier because you will be able to feel it inside.in the early stages of deacidifying expect to feel worse for awhile as the acids are pulled up out of the tissues to be sent to the kidneys for removal.over time you will start feeling better,but not until a great amount of acid has been removed.

I've been taking acv 2 tablespoons in water in the morning for about a week now and I also have been drinking kombucha tea at lunch time for about a week and a half. I've been sleeping really well since doing this, very heavy deep sleep.

yes i know about the deep sleep.you could drive a tank through my bedroom and i probably wouldnt wake up lol.please keep us posted about the kombucha.it has similar qualities to the vinegar and will hellp to flush out acids from your system.it is also funny that you mention sleeping.before i started deacidifying i could not lay or go to sleep except laying on my side curled up into a fetal position.now i can go to sleep laying on my back,sides and even laying on my stomach like i used to when i was a kid.strange but funny side effects.

I'll keep you updated on the kombucha, right now I'm drinking the tea because my boss at work bought 2 cases awhile back and never touched it, and he was kind enough to let me try it out, its pretty expensive about 4 dollars a bottle, I did buy the kombucha extract but I haven't tried it yet.

Hey Kindalo, I'd like to update you on recent developments with the ACV.

For the last three days I've been drinking much more of the stuff than I should, perhaps double (or more) than what you're taking, with lots of Iodine, Lemons (two, squeezed dry daily) and a very good diet. I have to tell you, that this is not advisable.

I experienced crazy detox reactions, cold sweat, nausea (bad), shaking, cold, it was incredible. I advise everybody to take it slower with this.

♦ About Acid

We are alkaline bodies by design, but acid generating by function. Acid is produced by the parietal cells of the stomach to aid in digestion, and acid is consumed in organic form in fruit. However, other than the stomach, no part of the body should be acid.

Despite this, one of the most widespread and insidious causes of illness that plague our society is acidosis - an accumulation of more acid than the body can effectively process. Patients often initially consult a doctor seeking relief from symptoms of a chronic condition - arthritis, diabetes, emphysema, arteriosclerosis, or cancer. Regardless of the particular symptomatology, all of these conditions originate with an increase in the amount of acid in the body.


Acidosis is generally seen by medical science as a part of the pathology of several different diseases including impaired liver function. It is encountered often enough to be assumed to be normal; however, acidosis is definitely not normal. It is the forerunner of most, if not all, chronic degenerative diseases including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease. These diseases are rampant enough to be considered epidemic in our country.

♦ ATTITUDE AND ACIDOSIS
Prolonged periods of acidosis affect not only the physical condition but also the mental and emotional states of patients. Similarly, mental attitude can affect the physical state. It is possible for a person to maintain a diet high in fruits and vegetables and still be acid. Regardless of the diet followed, the person who is negative in his outlook on life is acid.

Negative thoughts act to stimulate the action of the adrenal glands that in turn speed up the body's metabolic activity. As this occurs, more acid is produced and since the process is continuous, the amount of acid overpowers the alkaline from the good food and the net result is acid. And the cycle can be perpetuated; the more acid we become, the more negative, defensive, argumentative and unpleasant we become. The pessimist who can find nothing good about anything is almost certainly in some degree of acidosis.




* Sees only the pessimistic side of issues and life
* Can't sleep restfully
* Wakes up as tired in the morning as he was when he went to bed
* Constantly finds fault with everyone and everything
* Is tired and experiences generalized aches and pains
* Becomes irritable, ill tempered, and difficult to please
* Shows signs of "aging" as the body removes alkalizing substances from the muscles then calcium from the bones


2. Accelerates Free-Radical Damage and Premature Aging
Acidosis causes partial lipid breakdown and destructive oxidative cascades. This accelerates Free Radical Damage of cell walls and intracellular membrane structures, which then unravel, killing cells in the process. Acidosis is thus thought to be the first step toward premature aging, accelerating oxidative cascades of cell wall destruction, creating wrinkling, age spots, dysfunctional hormonal systems, interfering with eyesight, memory, and a host of other age-related phenomena.

3. Causes Weight Gain, Diabetes and Obesity
An acid pH has considerable influence over the majority of weight problems, including Diabetes and Obesity. It seems that a habitually acid pH can directly cause immediate weight gain. Here's what happens when a system is too acid. A condition known as Insulin Sensitivity or Syndrome X results, which forces too much insulin to be produced, and the body is flooded with insulin so that it won't waste any calories, it diligently converts every calorie it can into fat.

It is thought that an acid pH immediately signals the powerful genetic response to an impending famine, directly interacting with the all important and very sensitive, Insulin- Glucagons Axis. This makes the body produce more insulin than usual, and in turn, produce more fat and store it. In general, the more insulin is available to the body, the higher the probability that fat will be produced and stored, rather than used and burned as energy.

Thus, an acid pH will probably alert the genetic response to famine, directing more insulin to be produced and storing more fat than usual. Conversely, a healthy, slightly alkaline pH, will be more likely to yield normal fat burning metabolic activity, making no demands on the body to overly produce insulin and make fat, allowing fat-weight to be burned and naturally lost. And, with a healthy pH, there's less likely to be any yo-yo effect, or rebounding from a diet with additional weight gain. As long as nutritional stores are maintained, a healthy, slightly alkaline pH allows fat to burn normally for energy, rather than being hoarded under the mistaken biochemical belief of an impending famine.

With increased pressure to produce insulin under the worst conditions, beta cells lose phase with one another, cellular communication is thwarted and the Immune System begins to over-respond. Stress within the cells increases, making it difficult for them to perform adequately, and further, survive. In a very real sense, they simply burn out! Acidosis is thus thought an important yet often underestimated precursor to Diabetes Mellitus. Interestingly, before the advent of synthetic insulin, diabetes was treated historically by buffering the system with base or alkaline causing powders.


6. Disrupts Critical Lipid and Fatty Acid Metabolism
Acidosis disrupts general lipid and fatty acid metabolism within the body. Fatty acids are intimately involved in nerve and brain function. When fatty acid metabolism is disturbed, neurological problems may arise including Multiple Sclerosis, Macular Degeneration and others, as well as problems with hormonal balance within the endocrine system.

7. Inhibits Metabolism of Stored Energy Reserves
An acid pH inhibits efficient cellular and body metabolism. Acidosis causes chemical ionic disturbances, interfering with cellular communications and functions. Acidosis reduces Ca (calcium) binding of plasma proteins, reducing the effectiveness of this intracellular signal. Acidosis also leads to a disease of calcium cations (positive Ca) entry through positive Ca channels, resulting in reduction of cardiac contractibility, or the ability of the heart to pump efficiently and rhythmically.

Also, positive Ca and positive H (Hydrogen) regulate the activity of intracellular proteins and are driven out of cells, because of the "Sodium-Potassium pump" (Na-K pump), which provides a strong incentive for sodium to be driven into cells. There are some 10 times the amount of positive Na in extra cellular fluids than in cells. The Sodium-Potassium pump regulates the amount of sodium and potassium each cell in the body stores, and uses up as much as 25% of our caloric input per day to run. Positive Ca exchanges the positive Na, being forced out of cells, but naturally, the electrochemical gradient for positive Ca favours both positive H and positive Ca entry into cells, as there is less calcium and positive H in cells than in the extra cellular fluids.

Therefore, in acid solutions, less sodium will be present, slowing down the processing and induction of nutritional items going into cells. (Calcium may become inordinately leached from bone mass, causing osteoporosis.) An acid pH drains us of energy and disallows stored energy reserves to be used. Furthermore calcium may become inordinately leached from bone mass, causing osteoporosis.

8. Inhibits Cellular Regeneration & DNA-RNA Synthesis
For DNA-RNA synthesis and healthy cell proliferation to occur, cell pH must not be acidic. However, cancerous cells grow well in acidic mediums; therefore an acid pH actually accelerates and increases the possibility of cellular mutations (Cancer).

CANCEROUS CELLS DO NOT CONTAIN HYDROGEN ATOMS. WHEN HEALTHY CELLS HAVE PLENTY OF HYDROGEN THEY CANNOT BECOME CANCEROUS. IF WE CAN GET HYDROGEN INTO ANY UNHEALTHY CELLS, THEY CAN HEAL.

9. Inhibits Oxygen Getting to the Tissue
Acidosis or an acid pH decreases the amount of oxygen that can be delivered to cells, making normally healthy cells unhealthy so eventually they die.

10. Inhibits Life Giving Electrolyte Activity
Life-essential functions, like electrolyte Potassium (K plus) and Sodium (Na plus) channels, are inactivated by acidosis. This has far reaching effects cardiovascular, since without sufficient electrolyte management, heart attacks are likely to occur. Without appropriate electrolyte management, our heart literally stops beating. Inhibition of electrolyte activity also affects the way we feel and behave, and is intimately involved in the energy levels we experience, because of the nature of the Na-K Pump and cellular metabolism.

pH: What does it mean? pH is the abbreviation for potential hydrogen. The pH of any solution is the measure of its hydrogen-ion concentration. Ya that stuff looks good to me, i have a similar brand. I would however buy a bigger bottle if available since it wont be much more for shipping. Any ACV that is unpasturized, organic and has 'mother' in it, is exactly what you are looking for.

Balancing Your pH

yes that vinegar is the type you want to use fender89.since elan164 brought up the subject of water we better discuss this now.most all water does not contain the body friendly minerals they need.i will assume that most of you live in areas where the water is chemically treated with chlorine and flouride.these two substances are acid forming in your body.you must avoid them if possible,but that may be hard to do.the best options are hard well water,and spring water.i am fortunate that i have a well where i live so i dont worry about the water source here.having a good well is worth its weight in gold.unrefined sea salt is good to eat,but please cut down on table salt as it is a poison.if you do not believe me just pour out some on the ground and nothing will ever grow there again.action<reaction you better lighten up some as you do not want to rush it,you will have major detox symptoms by taking as much as you have.you will feel like crap.i had some symptoms when i first started such as fatigue,but that is about it.i am glad you are eager to start the ball rolling,but you cant rush it as i have stated.that is why i said in the beginning that the only thing i dont like myself about this program is that it works slow and takes awhile to see results.be patient,stick to the proper dosage and make this a part of your daily routine and the months will slip off before you know it.do not expect to see hair growth for at least 6 months,if you do before you are luckier than i have been.like i said i have noticed other health benefits also so it helps to restore health to the body.

Kindalo, is it advisable to have apple cider on empty stomach or can you have it after meals??

yes you can take it before or after a meal,but i prefer to take it on a empty stomach.it makes me feel sick if i drink it right after eating.i mix it in room temperature water,not cold water.i do not like the taste of it in cold water.

It's still tough for me to get down with water, but I just pound it. I was putting it in orange juice for awhile, but OJ is so packed with sugar it's pointless to use that as a vehicle to drink my ACV.

add some raw honey to it or a little baking soda
