Sandalore - could it be a game changer?
Looks like some people are getting results with this. Check out Tressless and HLT.
I've been mixing it with Ethanol and PG, and using for about a month. My scalp hates the PG (on top of the MPB itch, I have seb derm, which doesnt like anything greasy), so ive just switched to a few drops in Vanicream.
In terms of results for me, I cant say for sure but it does look like I have a few hairs sprouting in areas that have been bald for a while. Certainly not as decent as some of the other early users, but I'm hopeful at the 6 month mark things will be looking good.
Might well be worth looking into!

a possible alternative to the propylene glycol is vegetable glycerine, it can be found in many healthfood stores as drops. PG is a petroleum product and not something I recommend for the scalp

Could you link to the results? Can't see any threads near the front on Tressless.
It's often hard to tell results in these places since many of the posters are also on Fin or other strong meds.

Does sandalore need to be diluted in anything or can I used it directly?

Yes absolutely.
I did a big deep dive on the stuff a couple of weeks ago and it's not recommended for use over 1% and actually a lot of people start at .05%. I've read that if you overdo the concentration level it will actually lead to hair loss. Ethanol is first used and then after it has sat in it for an hour it should be mixed with propylene glycol.
I'm about to set out on my first DIY topical and am deciding if I'm going to include it.

Just grasping at straws here, but maybe you can find perfumes or soap bars with it and dilute it if it is too strong. Soap bars seem safe enuff. Maybe wash your hair with a bar of soap with sandalwood in it and leave it on for a while before rinsing?

I wouldn't do that and it's been reported across many groups (various forums, reddit subs etc) that it has to be sandalore not sandalwood. In fact, benefits have only been reported from a handful of companies selling Sandalore - it cannot be any run of the mill essential oil company. The stuff is dirt cheap so honestly if you have to run it a thru a little ethanol first (which is also cheap) shouldn't be too hard of a task.
Btw Nioxin makes a topical with it in already. I'm still debating whether to buy that and mix some of the other things I want in there.
