Re-written into what works and doesn't work
Someone spent 6 pages disputing minoxidil in the other thread, we will have none of that this time.
Yes, this is very cynical, but look at the ideas behind it, not the specific information.
I must also mention, some of it, admittedly, is wrong, or dubious.
Basically, if it is good for the thyroid, go in that direction. Not good for thyroid = tread lightly.

The list :

Raw cacao - poison. Toxic in raw form and destroys the liver. eat a piece of 60-70% dark chocolate instead. needs the added sugar and fat for balance.

Maca - indedible turnip that is toxic raw. does nothing except drain your bank account.

Goji - can be used in hot teas. Never to be eaten raw or as a snack.

Astaxanthin - does nothing for hair loss or overrall health

Acai - just a regular berry, but sounds exotic so it must solve all your problems

Moringa - only gullible fools use the powder version. Totally toxic raw, eaten in whole food form in third world countries and boiled. Use in whole form only, like you would spinach or kale. May as well get potato powder instead, full of phytic acid and oxalates

Tongkat Ali - only substance in the world to raise testosterone and solve all your problems and make you a better person.
Actually a complete scam and anyone selling it should be shot.

Nettles - pointless. Get the active ingredient, beta sitosterol instead, which is what you want from the nettles

Saw palmetto - another scam. literally modern day snake oil in every shampoo, pill and tablet and supplement.
use beta sitosterol instead. 300-3000 times more potent.

vitamin d- toxic and very unpredictable in the body and hardens arteries, even if balanced with k2 and A.
Use topical vitamin d on the skin only.

muira puama - a mythical herb from a mythical island that solves baldness, and harvested only in a full moon.
Actually a total sham.

Chlorella/Spirulina - get a b complex, individual amino acids instead. toxic levels of beta carotene in both. contain such a small amount of every vitamin and amino acid that they are utterly pointless. fish food for morons.
even starving third worlders can't stand it.

tocotrienols - based on a before/after picture where a man regrew no hair. sham.
just use a normal vitamin E complex.

MSM - too difficult to quality control. totally unproven.  use taurine instead and sulfur/gelatin based amino acids.

he shou wu/fo ti - absolute poison in raw form . man was locked up and survived on it apparently in chinese folklore. literally is prison food. Used by fools to regrow hair.
use a ionic zinc/copper mineral mixture instead

horsetail - depletes vitamin b1 and is toxic. there's more silica in a bell pepper and cucumber.
just get a normal silica supplement instead

Theaflavin - literally has no studies on it, but blocks DHT better than propecia allegedly.
eating bread causes physiological changes in the body and could be bottled and sold with that logic.

Hemp seeds /powder/ hemp anything - completely rancid . use it for fuel and building materials

Coconut Water Powder -  Do I add water to this ? I don't know.

purple corn powder - some fool is literally selling corn powder as a health food. good companion to onion powder.

green smoothies - disgusting and do nothing

Schizandra berry - More rubbish from David Wolfe that allegedly cure baldness.
95% of schizandra berries on the market are completely low grade and contain no active components of what you need, only one company makes a good product, and for hair loss it is useless anyway.
Toxic to the liver in raw form too.

Tongkat Ali with Ant powder - dear oh dear. You can figure this one out yourself.


What doesn't work continued :

chia seeds - more garbage full of phytic acid and are mostly rancid by the time you receive them.

wheatgrass/barleygrass powder - totally unfit for human consumption .

lucuma powder - generic fruit powder that has no use and does nothing.

Maqui Powder - highest antioxidant fruit on the planet.    Of course it is. Which fruit isn't these days ?

banana powder - why does this exist ?

Baobab - a generic local fruit to the people of Central Africa. Stop depriving them of it.



Raw milk - more garbage. No culture in history ever used it straight as raw milk as this is dangerous.
Must be fermented into kefir, or churned into butter or cheese or whatever you need to.

Nut milks - phytic acid milk from rancid nuts and seeds.

Noni Extract Powder - more gibberish. impossible to use. not a "fruit", has to be fermented and cultured.

Ashitaba powder - literally a leaf that costs pennies to make, sold for 70 dollars.

Coconut flakes - phytic acid flakes. Literally the rock hard shell of the coconut. Unfit for human consumption.

black maca - even more toxic than regular maca.

carob - a toxic legume that has to be boiled down. a dog food condiment, literally.



DMSO - does nothing for the underlying causes of hair loss and does nothing anyway

Minoxidil - causes mini heart attacks

castor oil - takes about a month to wash out of the hair

saw palmetto shampoo - absolute nonsense.shampoo contains about 1/100th of saw palmetto, and palmetto contains about 1/300 of the active beta sitosterol. so contains 1/30 000th of the active ingredient.
and it won't absorb through the scalp either. so you are literally 30,000 steps away from solving hair loss.

Maca Cashews - just silliness

Turmeric Almonds - now they are getting desperate



the exotic scam - It's from China! Well, then it must grow hair.
The U.S.A. cured polio and put a man on the moon but - darn it! - we just can't seem to keep up with the rest of the world and their marvelous hair loss cures.

Anonymous testimonial - John Smith tried it and John Smith thinks he sees more hairs in the mirror. Forget all those medical and research journals
- If John Smith thinks he sees more hairs, it's gotta be the cure for baldness

poor circulation- What your scalp really needs is more blood. Then your hair can grow. Of course, even a bald scalp bleeds profusely when cut, but ignore this.


fish oil - Fish oil lowered mitochondrial activity and increased
oxidative stress in… Atlantic Salmon, wow fish oil sucks even for fish

flax oil - great for wood varnish
Hemp oil - great for alternative fuel in cars
Sunflower - great for lubrication in industrial machinery
cod liver oil - great for clocks and antique cogs
walnut oil - great for painting oil canvases
chia oil - rancid and destroys health

whey protein : surprisingly unmentioned so far. contains tryptohpan, methionine, cysteine. inflammatory proteins. avoid.

raw water : needs no reasoning

stevia : disgusting supposed replacement for white sugar. never.

banana powder part 2 : but this banana powder is air dried ! the others aren't ! that's special !

most smoothies : gut irritating, which causes serotonin to rise. probably made with raw water too.

anything made in a nutribullet : if you want to mix inedible green vegetables with fruit and water, go ahead.

anything with kale : inedible, toxic, gut irritating food that everyone striving for health seems to eat.

"The Most Complete Multi-Vitamin Supplement in History!" :
Broccoli 500 mg : If you want dried broccoli powder that's up to you.
Bromelain 15 mg. Who needs it and how would 15 mg help you? Pineapple juice powder is all it is.
Alpha carotene 89 mcg : (that is one eleven thousandth of a gram folks)

I have a short but relevant statement to make.

A persons biochemistry is unique. What works especially for one person vs another can be completely different.

The reasons for a problem are many, and how to achieve that missing link is quite different.

Many of the things stated as "good" or "bad" vary on level of age, state of health, gene expression, environment factor and much more.

The real secret to learn about ones self and see what works.

My journey started in the early 90's and a lot of what I read, knowing now in retrospect was often wrong.
There are general principles certainly, however individual biochemistry will change what works and what doesn't.

Real changes that are long lasting (based on true physiologic change) or normalization of body chemistry (within a stability range of good health) take time.

This is coming for a person who hasn't lost any hair for over ten years and counting, but it took a long time to figure it out. The more one learns the more humbling this thing we call health is.

I never said I was an expert, this is what I have experimented with and looked into, and made sense to me.

No, I don't have all my hair.......yet. lol. I have a patch that I want to regrow.

I began losing hair during a stressful time abroad.

even though I admit I give out bad and wrong advice sometimes, this man takes it to new levels.
he basically has no ideas, no idea of what causes hair loss, no blood tests, nothing
instead he says take saw palmetto, eat nuts/seeds and fruit and vegetables and healthy meat and your hair regrows,
and he has been studying hair loss for 5 years. don't end up like him - completely dammed ignorant and clueless

beta sitosterol :

if you believe DHT causes hair loss, take it.
If you believe something else does, avoid it. you don't have to take it.
It is certainly very dubious to use it for hair loss, I would not really reccomend it, but only if someone believed the DHT theory.

Dragon’s Blood,Sangre de Grado, a tree bark extract :

Used by people who believe "polyphenols procyanidin B-2" are the magic cure for hair loss.
This idea comes from 2 places :
1)applepoly.com, who sell a hair loss product, that may work for one or 2 people. Works really well for some people though.
2) david wolfe said cacao bark cures baldness, based on a similar idea of procyanidin and polyphenols

It doesn't work folks. rubbing polyphenols in your head from tree barks or apples won't cure baldness

let's be honest, this is a silly hair loss theory, and I personally spent 2 years reading about it.
however calcifcation can be a problem for the heart.

A friend of mine has a NW0 hairline and even he can't pinch the top of this scalp. So there is definitely more to hair loss than a loose / flexible scalp.

Hair loss is a very complex issue. That is the reason why nobody has figured this out, yet.

There is a distinctly hard substance in my balding spots. It follows my hairline perfectly. The top of my scalp may be hard to pinch, but it isn't this substance. No way is this a coincidence.

So, if the calcification theory is true, than the softing of that hard tissue should lead to noticable hair regrowth and health - wich, from your reports, it doesnt seem to happen. In fact, I do believe that DT will give you nothing more than inflammation due to the spreading of lactid acid from sweat .

well, it may be the same substance found in calcified arteries and hearts, which we know exists

we just don't know if it is in the scalp too

I'm positive it is in my scalp and it isn't good. I don't know why I would be making this shit up and wasting my time. I'm trying to get the hair loss train rolling. I remember having pimples behind my hairline (my now bald spots) as a teenager. Maybe it is just scarred tissue underneath from popping them? I can't fucking imagine.

you have calcium deposits in your scalp

use topical and oral niacin,

I casually experiment with one or two odd items, but maintain the regimen in my signature,
the topicals are just as important.
also alter it based on circumstances or whatever
