lewclark89 wrote:Any luck and how long? So you recommend spraying for application instead of fingers? Do you spray into the roots?
Well I part my hair as best I can and really saturate my problem areas, and the sides of my head. I probably spray it about 15 times a day or so. This is with my current green/white tea mix, not Sage's topical yet.
I do think a spray bottle would be best for Sage's mixture though, even though I haven't made this particular one yet, but it sounds like it's water based, and applying it with anything other than a spray bottle would mean a lot of it gets wasted I think, or drips down. With a spray bottle you get precise spray with no waste, unless you spray too much and it drips. Then you can just keep reapplying it as much as you want, store the bottle in the fridge, whatever.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
My regime is simple and effective.
Buy some fresh pots of coriander, marjoram and rosemary and pick some leaves along with a tea bag and mush it with the pestle.
Add just a small amount of water and let the herbs inhale it, then just squeeze out the nutrients with the help of a strainer.
Apply the liquid on your scalp, and since It´s water based it will rinse down from your hair to the scalp, and it dries quickly.
Just rinse it out with water.
The only oils i use from now and then to the thicken my hair is cocoa butter and rose hip oil.

Can I use my blender? Seems like it would mix everything together really well by adding just a bit of water, then I could strain it.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Just an update, im three weeks in and i have loads of new hairs at my temple region that are getting quite visible now. A family member could see them when i pointed them out...this is working! On a side note...does this make your hair have a green tinge? If so is there any way of counteracting that? I use amla oil occasionaly and i know this is meant to darken hair

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
I would suggest using rose hip/cocoa butter instead of amla oil to keep the hair moist. (the herbs dries the hair)
My routine is to use the herbs by their own with only water, and from now and then I use the oils.
Shampooing only twice a week.

Amla oil strengthens hair though and it dries quickly, what additional benefits does the cocoa butter have? I'm using your water, tea and herbs mixture... I see you've added marjoram, guessing this is just oregano. Does this help any more or was it just an inspiration?

lewclark89 wrote:Hi guys, have been using this new regimen for about two weeks now. Think I'm seeing some new growth (tiny white hairs) on my scalp where the hair line is receeding. I don't have super thinning hair but i've noticed its got worse over the three years.
Have questions regarding the level of shedding though. It's definitely been a bit worse since using the green tea, rosemary, corriander and water recipe. I know this can be a good sign as it implies the weaker hairs are being pushed out by new ones but it's always something that depresses you, especially when you run your hands through your head and you get five or six hairs in your hands.
I take pumpkin seed oil daily and apply the green tea, corriander rosemary topically and leave overnight. I wash my hair every two days so its basically - get up wash hair in morning, apply that night, apply the next night and then wash in morning. I use a shampoo then nizarol then condition. Is this an ok way to do this or would applying it just the once before the wash day be enough?
Once it dries it doesn't really notice at all and the smell is not an issue even when sweating. There is a little bit of sediment left over that can cause a little itching but when it's washed this dissapears and to be honest my scalp feels pretty healthy and probably less itchy generally after using this for two weeks.
I've used a derma roller once now (1.5mm) and am just using my widows peak area as a test area to see the efficacy on areas where i have no hair, if it works well i'll try in the front (which is thinning the worst of the lot). Is once a week ok for derma or should i leave it longer in between? I'm not going heavy duty with it, just 40 seconds/ a minute or so on each side of my head.
Phew, sorry for long post. Sage thank you for putting me on to this routine and for taking the time to experiment for all of us normal guys who just want to stop thinking about this crap once and for all...really there's so much i'd rather have taking up my time y'know.
How are things going with you? Any updates on growth? anything else your doing that helps?
Cheers
Does this only work with fresh growing coriander and rosemary?
Will it work with ground coriander seeds?

Hey Joey
I think he mentioned 20 minutes at first, but that was when he was using oils...So I think now he said until it dries.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Just alternate with fresh coriander, marjoram and rosemary.
Mush the above with a tea bag, and add a very small amount of water and stir.
Use a strainer and push the nasty paste with a tea spoon to a liquid, and rub It on your scalp. (when your hair is completely dry wash it off)
The melted cocoa butter I only use 1-2 twice a week.

I'm gonna buy rosemary, cilantro/coriander, and green tea as liquid extracts and see if it works. I'll let you know.

Thank you Hotspur,
I understand that my previous posts has been kind of misleading, but trials is the only way when it comes to natural treatments.
In general I think herbs has a lot to offer when it comes to treatments of any kind, and It´s fascinating how complex they are.
As mentioned for those who wants to try It out, and cannot find them fresh then opt for the seeds instead of powdered or supplements.
I was not that bothered of my hair loss, and the key reason for experimenting was to give pharma business the famous finger.
It´s the first time in 20 years that I´m letting my hair grow, and new hairs is steadily growing.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Wow sage that's incredible, big improvement. I'm getting new hairs on my temples and some have started to turn terminal. Every day I see more and more. Admittedly I've had a shed of the top of the head but that's supposed to be a good thing and the fact that I'm 100% definitely seeing new hairs on the temple is such a great feeling...this works! Does it matter what kind of green tea bag you use? Also you've mentioned you swap between rosemary, cilantro and marjoram. Is this necessary? I havent added the marjoram yet.
I've also taken out shampoo from the mix. I was using a biotin shampoo, nizarol and a biotin conditioner but while it makes the hair look good for the first day by the next the whole thing starts to look thin again. So ive started using the 'no-poo' method with bicarbonate of soda and apple cider vinegar. Day one so we'll see what happens.
Using derma roller once a week too so see if that makes a difference.

The marjoram http://www.nutrition-and-you.com/sweet-marjoram.html is effective.
You don´t have to use it, and the reason for alternating is what herbs they have in store for the moment.
Less shampooing the better, and the good part is that there is no need for using shampoo after the herbal treatment.
Your hair will stabilize better without shampooing, and therefore your hair/scalp will automatically adjust to It.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
I've read some things that contradict the no-poo thing saying that baking soda etc can cause hair loss. It seems whatever theory you have you'll always have people contradict and that may be just what works for them but I find this hard to believe. My hair seems to look good for it after one day but again it's the long term that will work. You think the topical will remove the need for shampooing?
Do you swap out the corriander or the rosemary?

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Kind of interesting how effective an herb like Rosemary is for everyone following this protocol.
I meant to share this before, but I've been using Nature's Gate shampoo and conditioner with Tea Tree Oil and Sea Buckthorn. Another one of the ingredients in there is rosemary. The stuff has really helped keep any shedding down to minimal for the last 8-10 months. It's not doing anything for regrowth though, so thought I'd make that clear - just a good tool for maintenance.
At any rate - I'm going to finally pick of everything I need for Sage1's protocol next week and finally take the plunge.

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Sage, I know you say to just use a little bit of water and a handful of herbs, but do you think it would be ok to use maybe 2 cups of water with a big bunch of cilantro, and a lot of rosemary? I put them in a pot and covered them and let them soak (I didn't heat it) for a few hours, and when I strained it, the water smelled like rosemary/cilantro (exactly what you'd expect) and the water turned the proper color, which was a light brown.
I then put this in a spray bottle, and it allows me very accurate placement of the topical, and it also allows me to constantly saturate my scalp whenever I want to, without the need to make a new batch.
Since your recipe is to only use a little bit of water, I thought maybe I could either increase the concentration of herbs (since I'm using around 2 cups of water), or spray it on very often (which I'm doing), so in the end I assume it might work out to be at least equal?
It's so convenient this way, all I have to do is spray my scalp once and that area is immediately saturated, and it doesn't drip too much (but it still does a bit). Then, I can let it dry, and do it again, let it dry again, etc. I'm currently spraying on my problem areas, and also on the sides, back, all over.
I guess I could even keep the same amount of herbs but drop the water down to 1 cup, doubling the strength?
What do you think?
Thanks

Re: My green tea, coconut topical and green juicing progress
Like Long hair mentioned it docent come on a golden plate, and I belive we have to co-operate more with nature.
My neighbor for example who suffers from cancer, has radically improved by using his own herbs, veggies and therefore lessened the prescribed pills.
The only rule is to have at least coriander or marjoram since they contain more fluid, and therefore easier to press thru the strainer.
Use a pestle and crush the herbs with a bag of green tea:
Pour the content in a bowl and add about 2 tea spoons of water then stir so i gets moisty:
Pour the paste into a mini strainer over a small shot glass for example, and press the paste with a tea spoon thru the strainer:
Now you have it nicely liquidized, and It docent matter if you have long hair since you massage It with your fingertips on your scalp.
Wash it off after It´s completely dry (about 1/2 hour) with water.

I've been using quite a bit more water than this, will that be a problem? probably 50-100ml or something. Also sage, when did you notice the gaps in your forehead hairs start filling in? Im getting the little white hairs on the temples but it's so depressing seeing that thinning front of head, especially with the shedding that's going on.

Sage, do you think it's ok to apply this and not rinse it off? I use a version of this as a hairspray throughout the day as I mentioned earlier.

I have bought some green tea powder, nettle powder and also chlorella powder. Is it better to heat these up in water first or to use the dried ones and grind them together with the other ingredients?
