Re: welp, my hair is growing back
if you don't believe any of the results then please if you could leave the thread. i'd like to discuss with others who are getting results what their regime is and how i can improve mine. we get it. you don't believe us. that's fine. none of us who are getting results care that you don't.
this thread has turned to shit
i'm trying out the vr finally. it's shocking the shit out of me i don't know how to make it not do that yet. pissing me off lol

Re: welp, my hair is growing back
guys, I wish you nothing but the best of luck. keep doing the manuals - i never said stop.
my only problem is the absolute nature of the claims. theres nothing wrong with being more scientific method about this process.
like sanderson said, take some pics and compare them in 3-4 months or 6-8.
the more of us who document our natural or less invasive methods of combating mpb, the better.
i understand that theres a psychological hurdle to photographing our heads and hairlines. the struggle is that by photographing your loss you are affirming that its real and you are looking at an unflattering image of yourself. it was tough for me to get over that too, i didn't even want to look up there, much less take pictures of it! One thing that helped was to think of it more as taking the power back, that I/you/we are documenting this so we can see how far the progress and treatment is coming. It's not easy, but it's the best way to know if it's working and to spread the message.
Were all in the same boat here. I WANT manuals and massage and natural oils to be the cure for mpb, BELIEVE ME. So keep doing it, and keep kicking ass as it, AND document it.
I don't work for pharma, but I do know that the best way to speak truth to power or to the establishment is with good evidence. The more people who document their regrowth with manuals, the easier it will be to convince everyone else of their power.
Complexx, I know you cited that pharma has a lot of money to fun studies with drugs, but I GUARANTEE that if more people here documented their loss and regrowth with good photos using only manual methods then that message would spread like wildfire.
Our minds and perceptions are malleable, and we can be convinced we are doing better or worse on any given day or week. Because of this phenomenon of unreliable sensory appreciation, that's why photos are fantastic objective tools. That's why they use them in medical trials and doctors offices. Lets use the tools of the establishment to unseat them and not just scream into the void that is the internet that something is working just because we say it is.
Get out there, rub yer skulls, regrow your hair and DOCUMENT IT!
Nothing but love and hope for hairy fuzzy heads for us all.

@hillikey Just for the record can you please state what NW you are/were and when did you start losing your hair? Be specific about it if you can... BTW, what VR are you using again?

Forgot to add that Dernarolling is also known to "regenerate" subcutaneous fat.Complexx wrote:http://www.hairloss-research.org/UpdateDrSearsandEmuOil8-11.htmlManoko wrote:Do you have a source for this claim ?Complexx wrote:

It seems that this subecutaneous layer of fat is key in hair growth, yet I haven't found a single way to restore it.
I'm certain loosening up the scalp and restoring estradiol levels will surely replenish these fat cells too... DREXX is already reporting it & I've seen a study about estrogen promoting subcutaneous fat.

i got the huse and son one with the rake attachment. i can't get it to not shock me though so i haven't really used it. just manual stretching and board bristle brushing at this point.
i am a nw3 with crown thinning, moving steadily to nw2 territory if this keeps up. i started losing my hair very very very slowly around 4 years ago (only temple loss) all of my crown loss and even MORE temple loss happened this last year after what i would call the most stressful year of my life.JDawg wrote:

I do Tom Hagerty SE about 9 months, have insane control of my occipital muscles and more scalp looseness, but no real regrowth.
I alsto do LLLT and boar brush on non-LLLT days.

Re: welp, my hair is growing back
quick update for this interested...
my hair continues to improve. my crown is nearly completely filled in now. 3 months ago there was a very very thin baseball sized spot forming. this has completely reversed.
I can not stress enough that if doing manual stretching of your scalp you should do something along with it to stimulate blood flow and vice versa, if you're doing brushing or something you must keep your scalp loose. these things work as a team and have done wonders for me. of this keeps up I will probably be nw2 in a year where I was a nw3 with major crown loss 3 months ago. cheers guys
also stress is a huge hair killer. try and keep your posture good and face loose

couldn't agree more
-loosening (detumescence)
-bloodflow (brushing, inversion)
-posture + relaxed face: avoid tight scalp during everyday life in the long run
these are the keypoints
i´m starting to suspect nosebreahting might play a major role too

Re: welp, my hair is growing back
figured i'd update this
well it's been about 4 months now of manuals and boar brushing and i must say the results have been nothing short of amazing. my hair continues to improve. what was once an island forming in the front has now spread out to make an almost acceptable hairline, in a matter of 4 months. my crown is almost completely filled in as well, i give it another 6 months and i should be where i want almost. i now have tiny hairs all the way down to my original hairline. it's wild... if they thicken up like the rest of my hair is i don't see why i can't be a nw0 eventually doing this method. there have been few changes in my life other than that that i've changed. maybe trying to keep my face relaxed throughout the day to alleviate stress from the jaw muscles. i am actually going to test out the vr i bought tonight for the first time really actually trying to use it. i'll keep updating this once a month or so. thanks for reading

Yeah I use the same. No way is it bad for your hair, quite the opposite. Unless you consider drastically reduced shedding and hair thickening bad.

Re: welp, my hair is growing back
ten minutes a day?
btw slowmoe, did you ever see what happened to any of the people who got regrowth and thickening with these methods? obviously you have to keep a loose scalp forever to really keep your hair but forever but what if you dropped just brushing and vr once you got the results you want? would you lose your hair? is loosening on it's own enough? just asking your general opinion on this as i don't know if any of this has been studied

If I may, I'd dropped the brushing when you feel like it man. VR and loosening is good for now ( you're stimulating your dormant follicles), then you just stick to loosening when you've regruwn all of your hair. Loosening alone after you get results is all you'll really need to do because it was the tight scalp that caused your MPB in the first place... You'll be preventing that.

Re: welp, my hair is growing back
The results you guys talk about really impress me. Do you firmly believe the same approach will work for everyone if a tight scalp is the true cause of baldness in your opinions? I lost my hair in my very early 20's. At the time I did loads of scalp loosening massage, hanging upsidedown, scratching to improve bloodflow but it made no difference at all at the time. I didn't have a Violet Ray back then.
Has anyone on this forum gone from being totally bald on top to noticeably regrowing a head of hair through massage and Violet Rays? If you are bald for many years is it too late?
I have seen bands on the forum to tie around your scalp to tighten it, to loosen it, but won't such a band restrict bloodflow?

complex,
thanks for the reply. i kinda was feeling the same but i just wonder if anything has ever been studied with this. would suck to lose your results by eliminating things once you got regrowth. makes sense though
