Desperate and going to last resort
I will continue other methods but I had it...I just got a hair cut and it's worse than I thought. I need regrowth. So I wash my hair I left the shampoo in which is Revita and then I put olive oil in a while after. Ima leave it in and go to the store to by minoxidil..I never bought it before and had some questions.
I want the foam kind but will or can I use it on entire scalp? And how exactly do you use it just put it in that's it? How long to leave it in? My loss is diffuse all over. Crown is thinning most. I want results that are somewhat guaranteed. I will jump off minox once I get what I lost back then focus on other treatments but this is annoyin and needs to be dealt with

once you get what you lost back(if you do) you will have minoxidil dependent hair meaning you have to keep using otherwise you will have a large shed.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
id use topical anti androgen before i used minox. or try an alternative growth agent like copper peptides, or grape seed extract. minox chains you to using it. try grape seed extract. procynadins outperformed minox in the few studies where they were compared.

Idk where you can get any of those but I want one if not minox in my possesion in the next 24 hours. Copper peptides is that expensive? I never heard of procynadins. Is it And any of these products you mention how long does that stay in your head? Since I've been thinking alot...something needs to stay in head for along time to fight dht..Then somethin needs to moisturize hair again. To me thats the key to all of this.
If this procynadins work then I'll buy but the goal here is to buy somethin that will work guaranteed then get hair back or (as much as possible) before it gets extremely bad. Once I get some back I will maintain without futher use of minox/whatever I buy tomorrow. That circulation stuff WILL work and I will maintain and continue to correct hormones in the process.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
minox wont fight dht anyhow. but bayberry in that solution will. you can find them all online, people selling herbal ingredients on ebay even.
nothing is guaranteed. the grape seed extract is dose dependent. if you dont use enough it wont do anything. he explains it in fair detail and includes more than was included in the studies that showed a positive effect.
id try it.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
from current personal experience i would stay off the minox because you will probably see a pretty big shed if its going to work for you anyways... I'm trying to get off the rogaine at this point.. it is true you will get heavy headaches and dizziness...
keep ur scalp healthy.. do circulation exercises, any topicals u think are good for and take ur internals.
matter of fact I'm going to put it out there i think it causes minor erection problems... I'm not saying it makes you impotent or causes ED, my libido is fine.. I'm just saying that i think sometimes you have to put in effort to get a full on erection, after all it is a vasodilator and if it really gets absorbed in your body i don't see why it couldn't act as a vasodilator in other places i.e. your penis. I did some research online a lot of people agree. I also noticed pfizer, the pharmaceutical company that produces rogaine also makes viagra... coincidence? idk.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
IMHO....
STOP USING THE REVITA!!!
I sued to use it and liked it. Then I got a batch that looked slightly different and started shedding like CRAZY, I didnd't notice until I went away for a week and forgot to bring it with me that it was the shampoo causing it!
Once I stopped it stopped. I started again to check and it was definitely the shampoo.
Since then I tried re-ordering another time and it looked different than either of the first two batches.... I figured I'd cut my losses and stop using it since I didn't want to go through another shed.
This si just my personal experience but I think it would be wise to cancel that out as a possible cause....

I think they had corrected it. Was a bad batch or something. This was noted on amazon reviews. It looked different, had a different consistency and was hard to wash out. Ppl here currently use it with no problem. Based on what is in it there is no reason it should increase your hair loss.
But if you use revita and want the same proven active ingredient you can use nizoral or keto creame.

I only bought Revita one time and still have the same bottle. What is it suppose to look like?

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
The "good" stuff is moderately transparent and a light orange. The bad stuff is thicker and pretty gnarly and I've also had a third kind that was even thinner than the original.
I knew about the whole "bad batch" thing and decided that with three different products coming to my door and the potential for them to cause a pretty massive shed, I'd just rather not take the chance with a company that has that kind of accident happening in their production lines. Given that nothing seems to be working for YT here I thought it might be wise to eliminate a possible problem.
Of course "based on what's in there" it shouldn't be a problem but clearly stuff that does cause massive shedding has made it into the product before and could again. Also given that I've never heard of anyone really getting that much of a result from the stuff besides softer hair (which can be achieved with some research and buying similarly priced if not cheaper priced shampoos) I don't wanna take the gamble myself.
Just tryin' to help.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
Young Trunks,
In one of your previous posts, I think you mentioned that you were suffering from anorexia? If this is the case, then hairloss is quite common in anorexics.
In fact, when I began thinking about my own hairloss earlier and when it first began (at age 16), I remember having no appetite when I was at school. This actually begun when I was 14... I'd skip breakfast and have nothing to eat in school, then I'd come home and have a small meal, which I'd later burn off in martial arts classes. So, I was starving myself for around two years, and this may have been a contributory factor in the onset of premature hairloss.

I see. The bottle that I have, I've been using for over a year off and on. It does kinda dry my scalp, but I won't be buying it again bc I can't afford it. I'm still not allowed to work.

My anorexia is also a form of bulimia..unintentional bulimia. I was in a bad accident when I was young and the side effects didn't take a toll till I got 16. It causes intense headaches which I pass out from. Then I would vomit an entire day. I just vomit a burger tonight. I made alot of progress but every now and then I get really sick. That's why all of this scalp stuff is confusing me...I have tmj and when I move my jaw forward I can feel my scalp move around. Then my temple also get a sting...So idk what's normal really. I just base my decision off you all.

Re: Desperate and going to last resort
I see... sorry to hear this. I starved myself in early 2010 and experienced serious inflammation within the vertex area of my scalp. Soon after, the hair in that area began to rapidly fall out. Then I noticed diffuse thinning around the back and sides. I soon returned to eating normally again, and it took many months for the hair to thicken up again.
