Re: Sorry if brought up before but: Best topical to help aid in breaking up fibrosis?
actually vitamin c would work for fibrosis too.
carnosine
magnesium oil
apple cider vinegar
Limes/lemons
taurine - considered the best
MSM / vitamin c
ginger/cinnamon
vitamin k2/d3
EDTA
If those don't work, read below
if we actually want to preserve the structure of the collagen , which I think is what we need to do,
try this, which would work better
vitamin c
lysine - actually doubles the effects of propecia . it is good anyway.
p5p (b6) to absorb the lysine
This is the Linus pauling regime, and I am convinced it would work for hair loss combined with the above supplements.
Proline is useful too

One final note
vitamin c
lysine
proline
b6 (p5p)
will mimic gelatine's effect on the body.
you could add in glycine too

I will re-organise the list
anti- calcification:
vitamin k2/d3
EDTA
MSM / vitamin c. maybe lysine/proline too.
silica
apple cider vinegar
Limes/lemons
magnesium oil.
magnesium / p5p capsule
glucosamine sulfate ? only thing on the list I don't know about yet.
anti -fibrosis :
only taurine - I don't know what else does reverse actual fibrosis. maybe MSM, but taurine is also a sulfur bearing amino acid.
anti-glycation (perhaps irrelevant for hair loss)
ginger/cinnamon
taurine
carnosine/benfotiamine
p5p(b6) - essential when taken with amino acids
"topical L-Taurine was found to be ineffective for hair growth."
anti- calcification:
vitamin k2/d3
EDTA

Taurine sounds interesting! Thanks for list brother.

Let me add
Zinc will enhance the benefits of an anti-fibrotic , and certainly will enhance taurine's benefits
p5p helps absorb an amino acid too

taurine is interesting
taurine also inhibits TGF beta 1
reduces excess collagen, which can block the hair follicle forming
and MIGHT be used instead of MSM, it is a sulfur based amino acid after all
also, loreal wrote a massive patent on a hair loss product that contained tons of taurine research
and you may need less than MSM, only 3-4 grams a day, with zinc.

Good stuff
http://www.livestrong.com/article/157099-what-foods-contain-taurine/
Not completely sold on MSM, but might test it out again..

this would also break down fibrosis, and very directly
"
Cirrhosis occurs when a class of liver cells starts producing collagen, a fibrous material that toughens skin and tendons. Such damage cannot be reversed although steps can be taken to prevent further damage. In advanced cases, transplants are the only way out.
In the journal Nature Biotechnology, the researchers said they designed molecules that can block collagen production by liver “stellate cells,” which are also known to absorb vitamin A.
The scientists then loaded the molecules into carriers that were coated with vitamin A, which tricked the stellate cells into absorbing the molecules. -

salicylic acid may be a good topical, or a cream that contains it, to wash away the old, damaged skin
the fibrosis is microscopic, which is why a dermaroller may not work

also lugols iodine
that can reverse and dislodge dead skin and maybe fibrosis too

the same ?
also, does k2 decalcify the skin ?
Yes, K2 decalcifies the skin, arteries and vascular system. It's also beneficial for the liver and hormone regulation.
Fibrosis and be caused by crosslinking, but it is not always the same. For example as we age there is less plasmin and greater levels of antiplasmin, so the level of fibrinogen levels can build up (pre-collagen strands), which can thicken the blood or create coagulation defects.

Vitamin k dependent proteins and the role of vitamin k2 in the modulation of vascular calcification: a review.
El Asmar MS1, Naoum JJ2, Arbid EJ2.
Vascular calcification, a cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, is an actively regulated process involving vitamin K dependent proteins (VKDPs) among others. Vitamin K is an essential micronutrient, present in plants and animal fermented products that plays an important role as a cofactor for the post-translational γ-carboxylation of glutamic acid residues in a number of proteins. These VKDPs require carboxylation to become biologically active, and they have been identified as having an active role in vascular cell migration, angiogenesis and vascular calcification. This paper will review the process of vascular calcification and delineate the role that vitamin K2 plays in the modulation of that process, through the activation of VKDPs. One such VKDP is Matrix Gla Protein (MGP), which when activated inhibits osteogenic factors, thereby inhibiting vascular and soft tissue calcification.
This appears to be correct:
Skin fluorescence correlates strongly with coronary artery calcification severity in type 1 diabetes.

Author information
Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Coronary artery calcification (CAC) is more severe and occurs at an earlier age in type 1 diabetes. Risk factors for this subclinical marker of atherosclerotic burden, like coronary artery disease (CAD) itself, are not fully identified. One postulated mechanism for the increased CAC observed in type 1 diabetes is the accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). As certain collagen AGEs fluoresce, skin intrinsic fluorescence (SIF) can act as a novel marker of levels of collagen AGEs. We thus sought to determine the relationship between skin intrinsic fluorescence and CAC in type 1 diabetes.
METHODS:
One hundred five participants in the Pittsburgh Epidemiology of Diabetes Complications study of childhood-onset (age <17 years) type 1 diabetes who had previously undergone electron beam tomography scanning for CAC (80 of whom had follow-up data) had SIF measurements taken using the SCOUT DM (VeraLight, Inc., Albuquerque, NM). Mean age and diabetes' duration were 49 and 40 years, respectively, at the time of SIF measurement.
RESULTS:
Seventy-one percent of the study participants had some measurable CAC that was univariately (but not after age adjustment) cross-sectionally associated with SIF (odds ratio = 2.51, 1.37-4.59). However, for CAC severity using natural logarithmically transformed scores, SIF was both univariately (P < 0.0001) and multivariably (P = 0.03) associated with CAC. This relationship was independent of age, a history of CAD, renal function, or renal damage. Receiver operator characteristic analyses revealed that the discriminative ability of SIF to detect CAC went from an area under the curve of 71% for the presence of any CAC to 85% for those with a CAC score >400.
CONCLUSIONS:
The relationship between SIF and CAC appears stronger with more severe calcification. Given the strong relationship of CAC with CAD this finding has important implications and suggests that SIF maybe a useful marker of CAC/CAD risk and potentially a therapeutic target.

I thought carnosine was scientifically the best thing for this , even better than MSM or magnesium oil.

Re: Sorry if brought up before but: Best topical to help aid in breaking up fibrosis?
Has anyone had any success with this?
I'm not sure what causes the issues in the galea region whether it's muscle tension, skull bone expansion or fibrosis. Or something else.
I've been using the growband for 6 months to try to relax the muscles and I've just started using a shampoo containing vitamin E because Earth Clinic recommends it for removing scars so it seemed like a reasonable place to start at least.
Obviously there's no way to reduce bone
