Dairy Products, High Protein and Hair
Hello all,
I'm doing a lot of exercising/lifting.
My diet is a classical muscle gaining one, I eat lots of cottage cheese, whey protein, tuna and pasta for carbs.
Is it typically bad for my hair ?
Do you know any good way to optimize muscle gains while caring for your hair ?
I read here and there that too much protein intake is bad for hair.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: Dairy Products, High Protein and Hair
I am in the best shape of my life. At 5'10 I weigh 150 pounds with around 8% bf. Vascularity all over the body and muscles hard as a rock. I attribute it to my style of eating and training.
Eating : Fatty cuts of meat, fowl with skin, eggs, fish. Lots of veggies especially the cruciferous types and marginal use of fruits and nuts. Gluten free, grain free and pretty much casein free diet with the exception of slice or two of authentic pizza once in two weeks with a small cup of gelato. Lots of extra virgin olive oil drizzled on salads. For cooking I use lard and butter. Replaced beer with red wine and apple cider. I generally have 90-100% dark chocolate.
Training : Strength training more focused towards relative strength ( the side effect is dense muscle mass over the period of time ) four times a week. 2-3 times a week of running.
Hope this helps..

Carbs are way too overrated in the world of bodybuilding and strength training.

I was using Biochem Whey but it is too expensive for the amount of protein it delivers per scoop. I also used DY Tempro. Awesome protein I must say but unfortunately it contains gluten and I am gluten intolerant. I am planning to order NOW whey which is aspartame, gluten and free of artificial flavors. I recently added dessicated liver tablets to my regime besides the supplements recommended by IH.

IMO hemp protein beats whey. Tried both myself and reached that conclusion.
Besides, it's very hard to find whey protein powder made from non-GMO/non-BST milk on the market and the best you could find is still not that bio-available.

Hemp is too expensive, overhyped. Delivers less protein per serving and too much fiber per serving.

I would stay away from animal-fat because it increases estrogen, which will inhibit muscle growth. Also animal-protein lowers total-testosterone levels and is shown in numerous studies to leech calcium from the bones, due to its complex-amino-acids. Animal protein also decreases SHBG, which is a sensitive marker for insulin-sensitivity.

Nonsense? I can back these claims up with multiple studies if you'd like.
