CS - Kidney Stones
Hi CS, I need your input on this one, other folks may also reply.
I followed the following routine (see below) for about 10 months. After 4 months of the regimen I had 3 hours of pain on my lower left side (this was in Dec 2009), after 3 hours the pain vanished. Fast forward 6 months (July 2010) I had the same pain in the same place, very severe, went to the emergency and discovered that I had 3 kidney stones on the left side : 1) 5 mm 2) 5 mm 3) 6 mm
Needless to say the experience was terribly painful. I drank a mixture of six squeezed lemons with two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil 3 times a day for one week, then 2 times a day for a week. I passed out the stones without undergoing the recommended lithotripsy (which I was not in favour of).
Regimen (a total of 10 months) :
Regimen start : July 1, 2009
Regimen end : June 15, 2010
1) EC 400 mg twice a day.
2) 1000 mg of Krill Oil twice day.
3) 250 mg of GLA (last 6 months of regimen)
4) 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 (taken only for the last two months).
5) 5000 mg of Biotin twice a day.
6) 1500 mg of ALC daily (first 4 months of regimen).
7) 600 mg of NAC
Ubiquinol 50 mg daily (for last 6 months of regimen).
9) Glisodin 500 mg daily.
10) 200 mg of Na-Rala daily.
11) 500 mg of EGCG daily.
12) Iodoral 1 capsule daily for last 4.5 months of regimen.
13) 200 mg of beta sitosterol daily for last 7 months of regimen
14) Garden of Life Vitamin supplement for last 6 months (one cap daily).
15) Magnesium mixed forms daily for last 3 months of regimen.
16) Vitamin K2 supplementation.
I wondering why did this happen to me? I have no genetic disposition for it, it is no where to be heard in my family history. The stones were all calcium based, therefore lemon juice (containing citric acid) may have helped in passing the stones. I really want to continue the regimen but don't want to ever experience that kind of pain again in my life. One thing that is in my mind is that perhaps there may have been too much calcium in my diet during this time. I do drink milk, also noticed that my glisodin had added calcium, so did the multivitamin, wondering if there was a overload. I should mention that my water drinking habits were quite poor, often to avoid going to washroom I would not drink much water during the day (it was like 2-3 glasses a day, more if I really got thirsty).

I should also mention that I was taking Ashwagandha and Maca daily, I took Maca a lot, wondering if there was a overload if vitmain / minerals, Maca has a rich mineral profile.

Glacier - If you're having an attack, have this on hand, it will eliminate them within 24-hours.

This will prevent the stones.
Generally Magnesium and B6, given enough time will prevent kidney stones from forming.
Magnesium citrate is preferred for this purpose.

CS,
do you know of any tips to pass uric acid kidney stones?
Glacier used lemon juice but I read that only helps with calcium stones.
Thanks!

Yes, the link above is the right stuff to use for this.
For uric acid, would try celery seed extract or Tart cherry extract. Both are good for lowering uric acid.
