For those of you that don't know - I have used Papain far more regularly than anyone on the board, as far as I know.

The results have been interesting. I've had a massive shed, very slight frontal regrowth and then nothing for two months.

Today I discovered a new patch of regrowth in the middle of my temple.

What is interesting is, that about a month ago, I got two hard lumps in the that area - they appeared overnight. Both felt like part of the scalp. A few days later they went.

At first I assumed that they were some sort of cystic acne, but no spots ever formed beyond redness.

I'm now wondering, if these lumps were cause by decalcification accross my scalp. To put it better, I suspect that the bumps were formed due to a backlog of calcium being removed from across the scalp. A temporary blockage, due to the amount, caused the bumps?

Has anyone experienced anything like this? How can I improve my bodies ability to remove dislodged calcification / waste product?

Hey gbp, congrats on finding a new patch of regrowth. Hopefully there is a lot more to come. Since I added DMSO to my mix in an attempt to get a better effect I have entered a large shed as well. I was shocked to see my pillow the last few mornings. I have seen 3 really strong looking hairs sprout up recently but that is it. I may be seeing the same lumps as you are as I have seen some lumpiness that has been transient.

Like you I am losing hair diffusely over a NW 6 area. I hate it but hopefully at some point will get some regrowth back like Prague. I'm just going to buzz my head down at some point anyway so what the hell. I am certainly addressing all the dietary and nutritional factors that Prague was and have been undergoing a metals detox for the past 3 weeks or so. Hair or not at least I feel my overall health has improved.

I am not trying to be pessimistic or anything, but this whole papain causing decalcification through the skin is brought up alot. Is there any evidence that this might be the fact from using papain or other tissue-dissolving enzymes on the skin, or it is just over-optimistic theories ? Is it not more realistic that any decalcification would be flushed away with the lymph system and secreted out through our urine like normally occuring?

I have myself used papain on my temples 2 times a week for 4 weeks. That is now 1.5 month ago. I have not seen such lumps or cysts or anything like it, besides heavy shedding leaving my temples quite ugly looking.

I would agree that the lymphatic system seems like the more obvious choice. I wonder if what others have seen on the skin is a result of dermatitis or fungal infection?

These transient bumps do occur and disappear. The size of these things, there is no way they could come through the skin like that. Unless the skin penetration occurs after some sort of diffusion.

Disregarding hair loss / regrowth for a moment, it is clear to me that the removal of calcium from my scalp is not very efficient. Papain seems to be effective - I can use a lot of to dislodge it but it simply settles elsewhere. To have any real success I need to speed up the transportation of calcium out of my scalp.

I hope that Prague does post his before and after pictures at some point - it will be interesting to see if my shed is following the same pattern.

As a quick addition. Laser therapy, I believe, regenerates lymph nodes. No doubt it increases drainage rate as well. From memory, DHT increases lymphatic drainage as well. Of course, it may not be sluggish drainage, but actual blockages that are causing these transient calcium bumps, for want of a better phrase.
