Can you please shed some light on the enzyme catalase, gray hair, hydrogen peroxide, methionine, glisodin and how they are related to each other. If I am not wrong SOD converts the oxide into hydrogen peroxide, then catalase converts the hydrogen peroxide to water and hydrogen. If however, the hydrogen peroxide is not converted due to lack of catalase this can cause hydrogen peroxide to turn hair gray, what supplements can prevent this from happening?

Glacier - Superoxide can damage both iron sulfur center-containing enzymes and convert to hydrogen peroxide as a result.
The answer besides taking GliSODin is also to take either Carnosine or Beta-Alanine. Another factor that leads to graying hair is low thyroid.

CS-

for those going gluten-free is the gluten contained in Glisodin enough to cause intolerance?
Can you pls provide the link for the gluten-free Glisodin you have mentioned in another post? I can't find it
Is it of the same efficacy?

Hey edony,

I get a mild to moderate response if I consume small amounts of soy in a vitamin so I'm sure I'd get a response from gluten as well.

Hi Jdp,

it's trully remarkable how u understand whether you get a reaction or not.Surely there are foods my body can't tolerate but I just can't tell.
I never get any digestive issues and my chest never gets red after a hot shower.
The only thing probably not agreeing with my body is milk at least in big quantity,I often get immediate stomach cramps and I run to the bathroom...I don't know if that is an indicator that I can't tolerate dairy and casein in general OR just milk.
But really how can you tell that you are intolerant to a food group?
Even my rosacea looks the same whether i eat wheat and dairy all day for some days or just fast with fruits, vegs and nuts...

McCord & Fridovich units may depend on the reactive material, I'm not really sure. I heard that one example is 3300 units per milligram of protein.

scottyc33 - GliSODin is okay, just as long as you're not sensitive to wheat or gluten.

CS - thanks for the info.
I asked because look at the cost difference between this :

http://www.iherb.com/Source-Naturals-S-O-D-2000-Units-90-Tablets/1506?at=0

and this :

http://www.iherb.com/GliSODin-250-Vegetarian-S-O-D-60-Vcaps/9408?at=0

The difference is huge!

I'm a bit confused, as to what you need to take here to prevent gray hair..
is the sod the same as glisodin, or am i mistaken do i need to take both?

moj - GliSODin is a form of SOD that is more bioavailable because it is bound to a gliadin (wheat polymer) to allow it to pass through mostly intact through the digestive tract.

Really, anything that fights the hydroxy radical will help with grey hair.

However, I've spoken to OMG the founder of the Laser Messiah and according to others also, it does a remarkable job in fighting gray hair.

Another thing that may work is using Indiumese.

thank you so much, i read that several times, & was just a bit confused by it.
i know OMG, i have a shell from him for my helmet.
He has a blonder type of hair.
i found myself (black hair) that it changed it from gray to very silver, which actually stood out more. Not that i'd stop lasering, but that was my experience.
i have gray taking in my beard, that i'm not happy about much.
it's starting & i'd like to try & prevent it.
thanks for the help, as always. Very Happy

moj
