myopia (shortsight) and mpb

there is a ton of info out there postulating that the dramatic increase in myopia is linked to excess carb intake in the modern diet. I was wondering how many of us are shortsighted and whether there is a link between incidence of myopia and mpb. To be more specific whether as a group we are more sensitive to increases in igf1.

valderama - Very interesting information. I personally do not have any trouble with eye site, never have but wouldn't be surprised about the IGF-1 link.

There are studies that show that low Magnesium and Zinc levels can increase myopia. Insulin resistance can alter Magnesium and Zinc levels or low levels of these can increase insulin resistance.

There's some very old research in the earlier part of the 20th Century showing how low Vitamin D and calcium can contribute to Myopia and how therapeutic treatment in children can help resolve it.
