OT: friend suffering from Bechterew's Disease (Ankylosing spondylitis)
A good friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with Bechterew's disease (Ankylosing spondylitis), after having suffered from random pain attacks for one-and-a-half year which doctors couldn't find any cause for.
Doctors have prescribed her Arcoxia 90 mg, which they say is the mildest drug they can prescribe, but she already notices side effects from it.
Now I wondered whether anyone knows natural/herbal "solutions" for Bechterew's disease, or knows someone who has found relief in certain things?
I've found the following website using Google:
http://www.eraseas.com/treatments.htm
but I don't want to just send her the link and perhaps give her false hope (she also doesn't "just believe the internet", there has to be research behind something, she said).
She is 18 years old and smokes. But as stubborn as smokers are... whenever I tell her to quit (because smoking increases inflammation, and inflammation being one of the causes of Bechterew's disease), she just answers "You're just saying that, because you want me to quit!" and "Yeah right, some doctors are trying to tell me the same..." / "My current doctor didn't mention that.".
She told me she is open for 'alternative medicine' approaches.
Thanks.

I believe Norman Cousins had ankylosing spondylitis, and cured himself of it with high-dose vitamin C and a large attitude adjustment. See his book "Anatomy of an Illness". It's not hard to find...it's pretty much a library and bookstore staple. A friend of mine also says that a former co-worker of his got herself out of a wheelchair (she had rheumatoid arthritis) following Cousins' program.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Many cases are actually lyme disease.
I would recommend a saliva sample from Dr. Loyd and he will discuss options based on the results.

@ whodathunkit
Thank you for your reply, I'm going to buy her the book.
@ rdkml
Thank you too, but I doubt she will pay $150 for test. Isn't there another way to find out?

Sure there are other methods to find out but I wasn't recommending that test to find out if they have lyme but was pointing in a direction to hopefully help their issue.
The fact is, I'm obsolete. There is no reason for me to be on this forum other than to help with Rife related info and then a lot of the times I've been following Dr. Loyds and others info.
In short, the testing is to find what is causing the worst health issues and then use the best solutions that has been found and then can retest for a lower price to monitor progress.
Not to mention many people get a lot of comfort from talking to someone over the phone and thus more likely to follow a protocol rather than reading something online.

I'm sorry if my reply appeared to be offensive - it wasn't meant to!
Thanks for your explanation, I'll suggest it to her.

Oh, I'm sorry if my post appeared that way.
I know you weren't offensive at all.
Sometimes my posts are very short and to the point so sometimes I come across in a negative way.
Sorry about that.
