Himalayan salt lamps Empty Himalayan salt lamps

Curious to know what people think about these. I've done lots of reading about natural salts, and how effective they are with regards to electrical charge. In addition I've starting using Himalayan salt (even if it wasn't mined there, so what), and for a week now have noticed how much better my concentration is, along with energy levels. Now, I know CS has stated that the mineral forms really aren't that absorbable in the body, and the reading I've done suggests otherwise. Personally I'm experiencing the readings' side. The big boost of energy and well being makes me think the salt is being dissolved and absorbed quite well.

Anyways, onto the lamps. According to the producers of these, the salt lamps combine with water in the surrounding air, and form a bond that releases a negative charge into the air. Also apparently they neutralize EMF, bringing the near vibrations closer to nature and the body, and clear the air of dust, mold, etc. Now, it's just a chunk of salt. Could it really contain that much power, or are the benefits overblown just to sell these? After experiencing this internally, could I replicate it externally using this? I'm hoping to bring my bedroom's air closer to that of a beach, which seems plausible if the environment gets filled with negative ions.

Hoping to hear your guy's opinions!

I own 2 large ones. They are OK but nothing worth writing about if that makes sense. I think most people won't be able to tell a difference. I use it for mood lighting basically.

A good negative ion generator on the other hand you can definitely tell a difference. Increased energy, etc.. I own this one http://www.amazon.com/Wein-VI2500-VI-2500-Ion-Purifier/dp/B00026F9GM/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1320569536&sr=8-14
