Iodine & Moles
On healthyfixx I was reading about the mole removal with iodine... What kind is best to use just plain old iodine? Any links to something that would work best... Also is it best to scratch at it first?
Re: Iodine & Moles
Hey corey, for my experiment on HF I used 2.2% Lugol's and applied 3-4x daily for 7 days (more often later in the week). I finished the application process (plenty of pics) and now have 6 scabs that need to heal. I'm more confident about the smaller ones than the larger but I'll take photos over the next few weeks and we'll see what happened.
I scratched my moles until slightly bloody at first so the iodine would penetrate and continued to chunk up the crustiness for 4 or 5 days. I noticed after a while that just applying iodine gave me the same stinging sensation and only did that the last day or two.

I have no idea which concentration works best, but sure, give it a try and let us know how it goes.
My mom read the mole removal article on HF and let me know that when she was a kid she cracked her forehead and her father gave her a clear iodine to apply each day for the scar. She said it took a while but erased the scar completely. Topical iodine is pretty interesting stuff and worth more experimenting I think.

I'm not a curezone regular but if you think they'd be interested then by all means, get the word out!
I'll take more pictures over the next few weeks and months to see how it all turns out.

Re: Iodine & Moles
Something I've noticed while trying to remove moles with iodine is that after they fall off the mole will regenerate itself and come back. Has anyone else run into this problem? It's like the mole is coded into the dna of the skin in the surrounding area, so when it heals it tries to become exactly the same.

Any updates, sdguy? Do you have scars or regenerated moles?

The moles don't look like they're coming back yet but still have pinkish scar-like spots. I'm a terrible healer so I don't know how it will end up but will apply iodine regularly and see if that helps. I'll take photos again when I have a sense of things one way or the other.

I wouldn't recommend applying only iodine to heal the scar, when you're done wounding the area with iodine start a healing phase and apply shea butter or something to it a few times per day.

I don't have shea butter but am applying a mix of emu and coconut oil a few times a day. Along with that I'm putting iodine on once a day when I remember.

I had a mole on my belly. It was 0.5 cm by 0.5 cm and growing. Now I don't have it. All gone.
I removed it by using C HERB.
You can find it on Google, It works.

Re: Iodine & Moles
I tried regularly painting iodine on 3 raised moles of mine for a month or two recently. Unfortunately for me the moles resisted and the skin around them where I was painting has darkened. So in my vain attempt to remove these imperfections I have managed to make them more noticeable and peculiar; at least it is poetic.
I'm hoping the discolouration will fade as new skin comes through, nothing yet though. The weird thing is I heard iodine is good for getting rid of discolouration, not causing it...

Parsec--
It should be temporary regarding the discoloration. It's similar to when you get a brushburn; the skin hardens and darkens, then sheds and new skin underneath. Did you scratch at the mole before applying the iodine, or did you just apply it and do nothing else?

Re: Iodine & Moles
I haven't read this thread, but I posted a thread on my mole removal with ACV last year (have to search). I got rid of two of them. I poked the mole with an insulin needle to let the acv in. I used some iosol iodine too, but the ACV was mostly what did it. Then after it dried up and flattened, I found I had to scrape off the mole and it bled some. After it flattened/dried out, and I scraped it off... I continued the ACV and it healed flush with my head and my shoulder (2 moles) at almost the same color as the surrounding skin. I'm prone to keloid scarring which didn't happen. The moles didn't "fall off" though is the key part I'm emphasizing- I had to scrape them.
