Iosol Iodine Iodine/Iodine ratio
This is what I received in reply to that question from TPCS (manufacturer):
What do you think?
Yes each drop contains the very high potency of 1.83 mg. per drop. The iodine iodide ratio is roughly 50/50 in a large base of vegetarian glycerin. Our exclusive formula is suited for health professionals to use for dietary support on a variety of health issues.
Sincerely,
Kim Vieira

Re: Iosol Iodine Iodine/Iodine ratio
Another response from another manufacturer:
Thank you for your email. The iodine molecule consists of two iodide molecules. When it taken internally these molecules then cleave off from one another to be used by the body. Thus the Iosol Iodine product is completely iodine and would contain 1830 mcg per drop.

Re: Iosol Iodine Iodine/Iodine ratio
The first response is the one that makes the most sense to me!
In the second one, the woman doesn't seem to know what she's talking about.
Iosol should provide both iodide and iodine, JUST LIKE Lugol's, according to the manufacturer.

Re: Iosol Iodine Iodine/Iodine ratio
Littlefighter,
In that second reply, my take is they are saying that Iosol only contains Iodine and no Iodide.
I did a little googling and "appears" Iodine is two molecules of Iodine.
It also "appears" Iodide is two molecules. One molecule of Iodine and one molecule of potassium or one molecule Iodine and one molecule of sodium.
In the body, Iodine can be converted to Iodide. If I'm not mistaken in the body Iodide can also be converted to Iodine as well ... but not much.
Both replies have me a bit stumped regarding Iodide content of Iosol and is interesting. Maybe send another reply asking how much Iodide is in each drop of Iosol as well as how much Iodine is in each drop of Iosol?
The 1st reply from Kim sounds as though there is .915 mg of Iodine and .915 mg of Iodide in each drop of Iosol. If that's correct that would be interesting. I doubt it's correct and I bet that there is 0 mg of Iodide and 1.83 mg of Iodine per drop. The reason why I doubt is it's been mentioned at other places that Iosol is only Iodine and no Iodide ... even though it mentions Iodide in the ingredients.
For reference, there is 6.25 mg of Iodine in each "vertical" drop and 12.5 mg of Iodide in each drop of 5% Lugol's. Horizontal drops is double that.
Add a pinch of ascorbic acid and it will turn the 6.25 mg of Iodine to Iodide which would = 18.75 mg of Iodide and 0 mg of Iodine.
