How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
I have a friend who has a pretty servere case of gall stones and is planning on getting her gall bladder surgically removed in about a month! I was just wondering if there is anyway to naturally get rid of gall stones preferrably within a month? If my friend doesn't remove the gall stones with in a months time she no doubt will be having the operation to remove her gall bladder and i just have a feeling this will be fucked up for her future health.
So anyone with knowledge on how to naturally remove gall stones please let me know.
Thanks

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
If you come across the olive oil / lemon juice therapy as a possible alternative, research opinions from both the sides. I know someone who believed in the olive oil / lemon juice method of breaking up the stones, but then figured out it was more of a placebo effect than the real thing - ultrasound confirmed that the stones were still there.
Other natural options may be there, but I am not sure anymore of the olive oil / lemon juice therapy....
I have 3 ppl in my family, all have their GBs removed - so it is not the end of the world, I am sure the best way is to save it if one could...

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Silverlin - Like Lund says, the stone removing methods do not really remove the stones. They do get rid of the sludge though, and they are beneficial since they thin out the bile and help clear up the gunk.
Almost all gallbladder problems are the direct result of food allergies. Magnesium can help prevent gallstones, and I have noticed as a casual observation amongst patients that those who suffer from anxiety and whom are classically deficient in magnesium frequently have gallstones.
http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/bsc/ajg/2008/00000103/00000002/art00022
There is a saying when it comes to the gallstones, which I very much believe in. "Leave the stones where they lie"
The reason is only a food allergy is the source of the pain, not the stones.
Here is how the gallbladder allergies occur by precentage, with the exception that about 20% are actually caused from prescription drugs:
Eggs ranks #1 at 92.8 percent, followed by pork at 63.8 percent, onions 52.2 percent, chicken and turkey 34.8 percent), milk 24.6 percent, coffee 21.7 percent, and oranges 18.8 percent. Corn, beans, nuts, apples, tomatoes, peas, cabbage, spices, peanuts, fish, and rye accounted for between 14.5 percent and 1 percent of gallbladder attacks.
Never, ever have a cholecystectomy as not only will it increase the likelihood of onset degenerative disease, it will make eating real much more difficult. Bile salts are essential for health.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
There is a way to do it naturally, but it can be a tough one I was told ..
http://www.colonzone.org/liver-flush.php
To start a simple liver cleanse, this is what you will need:
- Apple juice or malic acid supplements
- 4 tblspoons of Epsom Salts.
- 1/2 Cup of Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 big grapefruit, or 3 lemons.
Directions
1. For 4-5 days before your liver flush, eat as many apples, or drink as many apple juice as you can. You can take malic acid supplements if you wish if you can't drink the juice. In the last 2 days, drink 8 oz of apple juice every 2-3 hours. Doing this will help ensure the liver flush is successful.
2. On day 6, eat a light breakfast with no fat. This enables the bile in your liver to accumulate, putting pressure in your liver. This pressure will eliminate more stones in your liver.
3. At 2:00 PM, the same day, mix 4 tblspoons of Epsom Salts in 3 cups of water, pouring all this into some jar. Do NOT drink or consume any foods after 2 PM. This is extremely important! Put this jar in the cooler/refrigerator to make it cold
4. At 6:00 PM, drink 3/4 cup of this mixture. It will taste very bad... but you can add 1/8 tablespoons of powdered Vitamin C to make it taste better.
5. At 8 PM, drink another 3/4 cup of thix mixture. Get all your errands done, and prepare for the liver flush. You shouldn't be doing ANYTHING after doing a liver flush, just lying down and sleeping.
6. At 9:45 PM, pour 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil into a jar. Squeeze the entire grapefruit into the mix, removing the pulp with a fork, or chopsticks. You should have 1/2 to 3/4 cups of grapefruit juice mixed with the virgin olive oil the jar. Close the jar, and shake it very hard until it is all liquid.
7. At 10 PM, drink this mixture. You may drink it through some large straw if that makes it easier for you. Try to get it all down by 5 mins or so.
8. Lay down in your bed as soon as you are down. This is crucial, and most people do this wrong. Don't do any work, don't even bother brushing your teeth! Just lay down immediately! Lay on your right side, with your right knee up towards your chin for 20 or so mins. Stay still, and try not to move at all. Try to sleep.
9. The next morning, when you wake up, drink a 3rd dose of your 3/4 cup Epsom salts. You can go back to sleep afterwards.
10. Two hours later, drink the last dose of Epsom salts.
11. Only after 2 more hours can you eat anything, but do not eat solid fruits just yet. Start with liquids, and move slowly to fruit.
What can you expect?
The next morning, you can expect some sort of diarrhea (this is caused by the Epsom salts). You will or will not see some gallstones afterwards. Some people just eliminate regular wastes, but others eliminate hundreds of gallstones. Look for green, round things - these are gallstones. if they're float and are green, they are gallstones.
Most people don't even get gallstones in their first liver flush. Be patient! Wait one more week before you do another liver flush. I know a friend who didn't pass any stones the first 3 times she did a liver flush, but lo and behold, the 4th time she did it, she eliminated almost 500+ gallstones in one liver flush. Our poor liver wasn't caused by 1 day of poor dietary habits - we can't expect it to be solved by just 1 day of liver flushing.
Before a Liver Flush
Colon Cleansing is still the #1 priority you should concern yourself with before even thinking about doing some liver flushes. Without a clean, and unclogged colon, these gallstones will simply remain constipated and stuck in your system. Start with a 3-4 month regimen of colon cleansing, and then move on to liver flushes. To start colon cleansing, I recommend using a fiber-based natural cleansing kit called Colonix.

Where did you get these numbers? And are gallbladder allergies different from regular food allergies? how does one get testing done for this. Like what kind of test would i be asking for?

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Before you recommend this, read up on the other side of this solution as well (science that disses this solution) -
With this therapy you will see and feel stones passing thru, but the real test would be the before and after ultrasound. If I were to do this ever, I would pay for before and after ultrasound. Even w/o insurance the test is usually $125 a pop. Worth the peace of mind...

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
jksl - The research comes from James C. Breneman, M.D., who is an allergy specialist. His research is actually a few decades old now, but is invaluable for gallbladder attacks.
There are many who still have "gallbladder" pain despite having it removed, since the food allergy still exists.

IH are you able to explain how the allergy causes and produces the pain instead of the stones? I just need to understand if possible so I'm able to build a convincing argument to my friend not to get the operation.
Thanks heaps IH/lund/jksl for all the info its extremely appreciated.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Silverlin - When a food that is eaten causes a gallbladder allergy, this is what happens according to James C. Breneman, who discussed this at great length in his book, Basics of Food Allergy, Charles C, Thomas, 1978:
Edema or fluid retention occurs in the bile ducts, and the drainage of such bile from the gallbladder backs up. This leads to infections creating an ideal circumstance for gallstones to form.
Eliminating all the foods listed, beginning with the high percentage ones until they are asymptomatic. Then the file can flow freely, no more gas, no more pain.
Having a gallbladder removed is a huge mistake. Read my section the necessity of bile on this page:
http://www.freewebs.com/immortalhair/physiology.htm
No gallbladder means improper digestion and assimilation of essential nutrients and advances the onset of degenerative diseases.

Silverlin - I've tried gold coin grass and it worked pretty well for me. My gall stones weren't calcified yet, though. To my knwledge gcg is the most effective natural gall stone dissolver there is. You can read up about it over at sensiblehealth.com.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
I actually used what's called ultimate liver cleanse with very intersting results.
It was actually one of the most disgusting things I've done in my life I'm serious too.
The ultimate liver cleanse pretty much is started off with enemas. Then epsom salts. Then 1 cup of olive oil with 1 cup of grapefruits stirred together. Followed later with epsom salts and more enemas. Unfortuantely I believe the enemas are essential as it helps to rid your body of the gallstones so your body.
The result for me was 700 - 1200 pebble sized gallstones floating in the toilet with a bunch of sludge/sand. Again, it's "the" most disgusting thing I've seen before! From my understanding you have to keep doing these liver cleanses for awhile to get out all the gallstones. Also, from my understanding you will rid your body of small gallstones and after later liver cleanses the large gallstones will come out. I also believe you shouldn't do a liver cleanse earlier than 3 weeks between each other to get results
So again, if you have 1 month to get out the gallstones that probably won't be enough time. With that said, I definetely would do several liver cleanses before opting for removal of the gallbladder
hope this helps

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
If somehow the science can break the bigger/calcified stones into smaller ones so that they can pass thru the narrow ducts - you will have the chance. Somehow the science suggests bigger stones "as is" certainly cannot pass thru the narrow ducts, does not matter how you look at it.
If you ever do the flush, make sure you are able and ready to goto the hospital incase of an attack. Also, be ready for rounds of emergency flushes in cases something gets stuck and causes an attack (have the ingredients ready) - worst is you may need to goto emergency to the hospital and they will snip it.
Other issue is to be careful with Pancreatitis - this organ is right in the pathway and due to blockages can cause serious problems, be on the lookout.
I guess the point is - you may be okay doing 1200 flushes, or you may get stuck on the first one, it has happened to others and can happen to anyone - just be educated and be prepared in case.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Since it has been shown that Magnesium seems to play a major role in preventing gall stones, and also since Magnesium diffuses calcium, a good Mag supplement will help.
Some practitioners recommend Magnesium Citrate liquid as part of the flush--instead of Epsom salts.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Lund - I thought IH said the gall stones don't actually cause attacks only the food allergys?
IH - The magnesium citrate liquid sounds like the way to go considering alot of people find the epsom salts hard to take and even throw up.
I recently spoke with my friend and she has told me that she has never actually had a gall bladder attack. The only reason why she even knows she has the gall stones is coz they showed up on X ray after having broken ribs. The reason the doctors told her she HAS to get her gall bladder removed is because apparently the stones are large and one of them is stuck in a duct, and if she doesn't have it removed the gall stone could effect other organs and potentially kill her(what the doctors are telling her).
BTW does anyone know something that can be used in conjuction with Gold Coin Grass for helping soften/dissolve/breakup the stones into smaller ones?
All the info and tips on flushing is much appreciated.

Silverlin - I would try anything to avoid that surgery. For sure I would go for plenty of high quality magnesium.
Gallstone removal
To: CausticSymmetry
I have read your posts with interest. Could you tell me whether there would be any danger to removing gallstones through 'natural' methods if there is a large one impacted in the neck of the gallbladder? I have been told that this is a 'time bomb' by the doctors if it moves into the tube. Could you comment on the safety factor of removing via natural methods. Is there a way of having them 'melt' or brake down to facilitate safe passage?
Cheers

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
healthrepair - Here is a quote taken from a site written on Eastern style medicine in regards to Gold coin Grass.
An alternative to surgery, is gallstone removal by chemical dissolution and gallbladder flush. Traditional European folk remedy recommends the use of olive oil and lemon juice to flush the gallstones. A major concern is that if the stones are too big, they may not easily come out or may even get stuck on the way out. Traditional Chinese medicine recommends the use of "Gold Coin Grass" (GCG) to crush and soften the stones so that they will come out slowly. This tends to take a relatively long time. However, centuries of experience has shown that Gold Coin Grass (GCG) can be taken safely without side effects. In most cases, alleviation of gallbladder pain is experienced within a few days of using Gold Coin Grass (GCG) in tincture form. This is a significant benefit.
Another thing that softens the stones is of course Olive oil, which is standard in the classic liver flushes.
To avoid any disasters, making certain there are no allergenic foods eaten, which will cause the edema and the gas associated with a gallbladder attack. One could take both Olive oil in and Magnesium over a period of time to prepare for a major flush as well.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
IH - is there actually anyway a large gall stone can be fatal if it is stuck in the neck of the gall bladder or cystic duct? Coz here's some info i found.
"Acute cholecystitis. In this condition a stone blocks the cystic duct and therefore the gallbladder cannot empty its content into the bile duct. The secretions in the gallbladder accumulate and become infected. Patients often develop a bad infection of the gallbladder with severe pain in the upper part of the abdomen, fevers, and other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. Patients usually require admission to the hospital for treatment with antibiotics and emergent removal of the gallbladder.
Jaundice. Jaundice develops when a stone passes from the gallbladder through the cystic duct into the bile duct and blocks the bile duct. Patients present with a yellowish discoloration of their skin associated with severe itchiness. An emergency procedure by a gastroenterologist is often required to remove the stones from the bile duct.
Acute pancreatitis. In some patients passage of the stone from the gallbladder into the bile duct is associated with injury to the pancreas. Pancreatitis is one of the most severe complications of gallstones. Of all patients that develop pancreatitis, 85% of the patients get better very quickly however in 15% the attack can be severe and lead to hospitalization that may extend for many days to weeks in an intensive care unit. Pancreatitis develops with severe pain in the abdomen and back that is associated wit nausea, vomiting, and fevers."
How do you minimalize or treat the above mentioned potential problems? Are the flushes able to counter all those points without harm?
"Acute cholecystitis. In this condition a stone blocks the cystic duct and therefore the gallbladder cannot empty its content into the bile duct. The secretions in the gallbladder accumulate and become infected. Patients often develop a bad infection of the gallbladder with severe pain in the upper part of the abdomen, fevers, and other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Oh also i found this
"There is two factors that might be helpful in dissolving gallstone. From another point of view that is. If gallstone's component is cholesterol and calcium then dissolving cholesterol by eating lecithin and dissolving calcium by supplementing with EDTA will do the trick. Here is a way to prove that EDTA will work. Get a very old glass that looks very cloudy. As you know it is impossible to clean the cloudy glass. The main component of the cloudiness is caused by calcium carbonates clinging on to the glass. Get disodium EDTA, and wash it. The EDTA dissolved in water will remove them in seconds just by rubbing your fingers on it. Now 1 gram of EDTA will dissolve about 201 mg of Calcium Carbonate. That is proof enough for me that it will dissolve those gallstones, as well as kidney stones. I hope this helps."
IH do you think this makes sense?

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
'healthrepair' (my friend ive been talking about) just recently mentioned to me that when she broke her leg a fair while ago she required surgery, but because she had to be brought back to NZ by plane, not long afterwards she had to have blood thinning injections in her stomach because of the fear of clotting and deep-vein thrombosis whilst in the air.
When she had her first xray, it showed a lot of very small stones. Then the last xray taken more recently showed one huge stone impacted in the neck of the gall bladder.
The doctors have told her that this large stone stuck in the neck of the gall bladder is an EMERGENCY waiting to happen.
Do you think the blood thinning injections played any sort of role in helping the stones to become larger? One of the reason's why I raise this question is because my friend is also an identical twin yet her sister
doesn't have any gall stones other then maybe very small ones.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
A gallbladder attack means one or more stuck stones at the wrong place.
When you try to flush, you are forcing these stones to move (pressure theory) and it is during this movement that there is a "chance" of an attack. Now if the stones are small, you can get away - a big one and you with some bad luck can be a disaster. I think it is a possible outcome and one should be aware of this.

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Those ducts are very narrow - even after relaxing them with epsom salt, we are still talking a fairly narrow passage where larger calcified stones cannot pass thru and may cause obstruction. Usually if you have the big ones able to be seen by ultra sound or Xray - it may already be too late to do GB/Liver fluses for the existing stones.
The best option there would be try to de-calcify them over time and make them smaller (using something that can help to reduce the size of these stones) before trying liver flushes. At the same time one can go on the liver/gb support supplements. Once the size of the stones become manageable, possibility of flushes open up.
See below for some info on stone dissolvers - I have no clue if any of this makes sense, just reading material:
http://www.askshelley.com/faq.php?p=default&cat=37#a12
Here is one experience of GB attack - you can browse the site for more in the Liver Support Forum there:

There is a link to the debate where both sides discuss there basis:

Re: How to remove Gall Stones naturally?
Silverlin - If the blood thinners involved Warfarin (Coumadin) which is a vitamin K antagonist, that would cause very rapid calcification.
Leave the stones where they lie, as they are not the cause of the problem, but merely a result of another problem. Perhaps calcium homeostasis (probable magnesium deficiency). I had learned of the food allergy connection originally from one of the most respected integrated doctors in the country. I have noted in patients, which I have stated before that those who have gallbladder problems usually have symptoms of a severe magnesium deficiency.
Orthodox doctors only know to cut, burn or poison, but in an actual emergency if relating to pancreatitis, this is definitely life threatening. For existing stones, I would consider food allergy first and only head to emergency if severe symptoms arise.

gallstones
Thankyou all of you for your very valuable input into the problem of gallstones. I have a clear picture now of what is going on and believe that I will try to 'soften' or 'break-down' the large impacted stone and get the cooperation of my MD to take x-rays before and after to monitor the situation.
I just have to wonder if anyone can tell me where I get products such as Gold Coin Grass tincture (strange name) and Magnesium Citrate Liguid? What is EDTA?
Evidently there is a product called 'Stone Free' from Vitacost.com - does anyone know about this product?
How / where do I get tested for food allergies related to gallstones?
