After Meal Sugar Craving. Empty After Meal Sugar Craving.

I have forgotten the reason for this, but lately I'm having big sugar cravings after finishing my largest meal. Something to do with Insulin yeah?. Are these cravings a bad sign?. What can I do to alleviate them?.

Is this a bad sign?.

I remember reading up on PICA... which is a condition that creates cravingsin case of the body being without something it wants or needs. Commonly seen in pregnant women, but I think it's much more common than some would think.

I get the same sugar cravings also. Especially after I eat a big meal.

again it's only a theory of mine:

if you crave sweets you desperately lack copper - that's why we crave chocolate often, that's why women crave sweets more than man, that's why after a steak i crave copper (the zinc in the steak)

that's also why blonde ppl get more fatter easily since the have less copper and crave more sweets - this is easy to observe in Europe, blonde ppl are more overweight here

it's the pathogens's craving sugar and your body craving copper to kill them - but it's based only on my observations

usually you crave what you're deficient in - when i do lot of dark chocolate (86-92%) i instantly crave vit C (lemon, orange, fruit, acid) - it's the copper x vit C relation, knowing what you crave and at what time is a key to you deficiencies/excesses

It has to do with blood sugar level and insulin. After you eat, you may secrete a lot of insulin, which drives blood sugar down, sometimes even to hypoglycemic levels, then you crave sugar. That's also the paradox of eating carbs or sweets and craving more, blood sugar imbalance because of insulin/sugar spikes. Also, in the morning, when blood sugar is naturally low people often crave something sweet.

If you have real sweet cravings you could maybe try a natural sweetener like Xylitol. It shouldn't spike insulin too much so might help break the vicious cycle Gibson touched on (eat sugar > spike insulin, blood sugar crash> crave more sugar). I used to be really bad for this cycle and was either hungry or ate all the time, now I can often go most of the day on something like a few eggs and hunger arrives gradually.

Sometime I crave salt. More often then sugar. When I eat a really spicy meal I crave sugar.

I crave salt more often then sugar

I think Gibson hit the nail on the head!. Does anyone know why these cravings have become worse in the last while even though my diet has got healthier?.

Your diet may have gotten healthier, but it still may be missing certain things your body craves or needs, AVC kills sugar cravings for me, and seaweed nails my salt craving in a really positive way.

Apple Cider Vinegar, I mix it with a couple tablespoons of apple juice and mostly water.

I generally eat Kombu, just make sure there's some iodine in there.

There are a lot of things you could take to lower blood sugar. Alpha lipoic acid and Chromium are two that pervade most supps designed for that end, but there are so many other things that are used. I think if you search swansons, you'd find a ton of options.

The thing that truly regulates the process, removing cravings, increasing insulin sensitivity, etc. for me is Biotivia's Transmax, and their timed release formula thus far has blown me away, literally going above and beyaond anything I have taken before. Search "resveratrol insulin" and you'll find some studies.

Regarding diet, as you can tell from the debates, it's a tough call. That said, I think you would have to be fanatical about diet to achieve the same sensation of low inflammation Transmax TR provides. Walgreens has a sale on it currently, something like 53 bucks vs 85. Also I think they offer a satisfaction guarantee, so you might be able to return it open bottle if you don't like it.
