CS: Question About EFA/DHA Omega Oils Overdosing??

(All others who may have thoughts... please chime in)

I take 3 kinds... see links below. I'm fine ... no problems... with other stuff that may thin blood.

Am I overdosing? Does the body regulate it's own blood thickness?

Seems likes it's ok ... must be people on the planet that eat so much 'fish' ... and are fine... no?

Gromit137 - Sorry I was a way for a few days.

Nothing wrong at all with taking vitamin K2. Contrary to wide belief by 99.5% of all doctors, vitamin K2 does not present risks to blood clotting, even in cases of warfarin (coumadin) 'therapy.'

In fact, K2 stabilizes INR levels according to a few studies in patients on coumadin. In other words, K2 regulates the clotting process.

Regarding Fish oil on thinning of the blood. Fish oil thins the blood only under abnormal conditions. It does not thin the blood under normal conditions, so it's safe. Even coumadin patients can take it.

Regarding potential overdose. You cannot overdose on parental omega-3's such as ALA from chia seed (ala, Salba seed). Parental omega-3 sources will convert to their deriviative forms DHA and EPA as needed, especially if you have enough supplemental nutrients such as magnesium, B6 and Zinc, which Chia (Salba) is loaded in already.

However, you can potentially overdoes on the dervivatives such as DHA and EPA. I would suggest just taking the Krill oil & the Salba (Chia seed) and leaving out the high dose EPA/DHA.

Gromit137 - Just one per day, although this is the stuff that I use which is a pretty good value considering the dose.
