HMI-115: A Prolactin Receptor Antagonistic Antibody
I have recently come across new research using something called HMI-115. Below is a quote from the tressless.com website:
I'm curious what your thoughts are on this CS. Could this be a cure? Prolactin often comes up when talking about hair loss and this seems like an important piece of the puzzle.
It is however still not available on the market. I wish there was a natural one we could start using right away instead. That said, it seems changing the serum levels of prolactin seems to have little effect on prolactin levels on the scalp. HMI-115 would directly affect the receptors in the scalp. Anything similar that would achieve this?

I believe that HMI-115 is undergoing a Phase 2 clinical trial to assess its efficacy and safety in male subjects with AGA. The trial is randomized, multicenter, double-blind, and placebo-controlled, which is the standard for determining the effectiveness of a new treatment. The primary outcome measure is the rate of Target Area Hair Count (TAHC) over a 24-week treatment period.
The disadvantage of using a drug is that targeting the prostaglandin in this way limits health benefits, I guess we'll see how effective this approach would be.
