tendonitis
I have some tendonitis and bursitis in my shoulders from years of hard work and was wondering what besides collagen and glucosamine supplements would help. Trying out youtube exercise videos but not sure they are helping much.

Re: tendonitis
MSM and colostrum could help as well as red light therapy.
Regarding exercises I would check out the stuff from Andreo Spina (shoulder cars, thoracic spine cars, scapula cars). You need to improve the biomechanics/mobility of all these areas.

Read something about TENS electrical pads stimulation like those Dr Ho ones you see advertised on TV can help muscle tension too.

Re: tendonitis
I had extremely bad tendonitis in my shoulder, to where i couldn't even raise my arm. I went to a highly recommended (by friends) doctor that practices traditional chinese medicine, but uses modern tools. He did acupuncture on the shoulder, then hooked TENS electrodes to the needles and zapped me for 20 minutes. There was immediate relief and after 4 or 5 sessions, i had full range of motion and no pain.shaftless wrote:Read something about TENS electrical pads stimulation like those Dr Ho ones you see advertised on TV can help muscle tension too.
I eventually bought myself a TENS machine and use if for minor muscle pain, etc. Its easy to use and helps.

Yes I'm thinking of getting one of those tens machines too. They are extremely relaxing. Forgot all about acupuncture. That has merit as well.

Re: tendonitis
How to deal with tendonitis.
It's not on supermarket shelves, but if you visit a local butcher and ask them to provide you with tendons from
the cow, you can either get them for free or at very low price. Eat them everyday for weeks and observe tendonitis vanish.

Re: tendonitis
I used to buy pork hocks (pig feet) from the butchers and made a nice head cheese. Will ask about the tendons. Probably chewy and stringy eating unless I boil the crap out of them.
My tendonitis is practically non-existent during the day but in the early mornings after a few hours of sleep you can feel it. Sounds more like possible bursitis (inflammation of the bursas) or arthritis flaring up after a period of inactivity. Might have to rely on aleve (naproxen) or tylenol for a good nights sleep.

There's probably some creative ways to put the tendons into something, maybe like a crock pot.
Those pain killers....severe punishment on liver or kidneys. Lots of other options while you recover.

Really? I know those painkillers, even if they are OTC, can still be bad for you in the long run...but supplements don't have much of an analgesic effect. And early mornings continue to be the worst for me with that morning stiffness. Heating pads don't work either.

What have you tried?

Re: tendonitis
Glucosamine and chondroitin tablets, cod liver oil, vit E ...thinking they might lubricate the joints. It probably does during the day cuz I'm pretty normal. But at night when you don't move for a few hours is the problem. I'm starting MSM tablets 1000 mg hoping the sulfur might help. Vit C could help too maybe but haven't tried it yet. For some reason inflammation likes to show up when you're not moving your muscles at night.

Not an unexpected result.
Between the two of these, probably better relief.

Re: tendonitis
I haven't taken hyaluronic acid in years...forgot all about that one. Didn't know turmeric had inflammatory benefits. Thought it was mostly antibacterial and antifungal.

This one is a little extra special, it has a phospholipid encapsulation, so it amplifies the TGF-beta protection by at least 10-fold.
Also, there are so many more options, this is just one of many.
