The worst thread ever returns ! Now with studies and links . What doesn't work for hair loss Empty The worst thread ever returns ! Now with studies and links . What doesn't work for hair loss

Post  iuyyighghghgkh Mon Oct 31, 2016 11:25 am

I have now added lots of research to this, especially for cod liver oil and mushrooms supplements, and why you should avoid them,
special thanks for Columbo for suggesting LLLT in the other thread
I'm giving away all this information for free ! Don't get scammed.

Raw cacao - poison. Toxic in raw form and destroys the liver. eat a piece of 60-70% dark chocolate instead. needs the added sugar and fat for balance.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/3zddvx/finally_found_cacao_beans_with_good_psychoactivety/

Maca - inedible turnip that is toxic raw. does nothing except drain your bank account.

Goji - can be used in hot teas. Never to be eaten raw or as a snack.

Astaxanthin - does nothing for hair loss or overall health.

Acai - just a regular berry, but sounds exotic so it must solve all your problems

Moringa - only gullible fools use the powder version. Totally toxic raw, eaten in whole food form in third world countries and boiled. Use in whole form only, like you would spinach or kale. May as well get potato powder instead, full of
phytic acid and oxalates

Tongkat Ali - only substance in the world to raise testosterone and solve all your problems and make you a better person.
Actually a complete scam and anyone selling it should be shot.

Nettles - pointless. Get the active ingredient, beta sitosterol instead, which is what you want from the nettles

Saw palmetto - another scam. literally modern day snake oil in every shampoo, pill and tablet and supplement.
use beta sitosterol instead. 300-3000 times more potent.

muira puama - a mythical herb from a mythical island that solves baldness, and harvested only in a full moon.
Actually a total sham.

Chlorella/Spirulina - get a b complex, individual amino acids instead. toxic levels of beta carotene in both. contain such a small amount of every vitamin and amino acid that they are utterly pointless. fish food for morons.
even starving third worlders can't stand it. also toxic levels of iron.

tocotrienols - based on a before/after picture where a man regrew no hair. sham.
just use a normal vitamin E complex.

MSM - too difficult to quality control. totally unproven.  use taurine instead and sulfur/gelatin based amino acids.

he shou wu/fo ti - absolute poison in raw form . man was imprisoned and survived on it apparently in chinese folklore. literally is prison food. Used by fools to regrow hair.
use a ionic zinc/copper mineral mixture instead

horsetail - depletes vitamin b1 and is toxic. there's more silica in a bell pepper and cucumber.
just get a normal silica supplement instead

Theaflavin - literally has no studies on it, but blocks DHT better than propecia allegedly.
eating bread causes physiological changes in the body and could be bottled and sold with that logic.

Hemp seeds /powder/ hemp anything - completely rancid . use it for fuel and building materials

Coconut Water Powder -  Do I add water to this ? I don't know.

green smoothies - disgusting and do nothing

Schizandra berry - More rubbish from David Wolfe that allegedly cure baldness.
95% of schizandra berries on the market are completely low grade and contain no active components of what you need, only one company makes a good product, and for hair loss it is useless anyway.
Toxic to the liver in raw form too.

Tongkat Ali with Ant powder - dear oh dear. You can figure this one out yourself.

chia seeds - more garbage full of phytic acid and are mostly rancid by the time you receive them.

wheatgrass/barleygrass powder - totally unfit for human consumption .

lucuma powder - generic fruit powder that has no use and does nothing.

Maqui Powder - highest antioxidant fruit on the planet.    Of course it is. Which fruit isn't these days ?

banana powder - why does this exist ?

Baobab - a generic local fruit to the people of Central Africa. Stop depriving them of it.

Raw milk - more garbage. No culture in history ever used it straight as raw milk as this is dangerous.
Must be fermented into kefir, or churned into butter or cheese or whatever you need to.

Nut milks - phytic acid milk from rancid nuts and seeds.

Noni Extract Powder - more gibberish. impossible to use. not a "fruit", has to be fermented and cultured.

Ashitaba powder - literally a leaf that costs pennies to make, sold for 70 dollars.

Coconut flakes - phytic acid flakes. Literally the rock hard shell of the coconut. Unfit for human consumption.

black maca - even more toxic than regular maca.

carob - a toxic legume that has to be boiled down. a dog food condiment, literally.

DMSO - does nothing for the underlying causes of hair loss and does nothing anyway

Minoxidil - causes mini heart attacks

castor oil - takes about a month to wash out of the hair

saw palmetto shampoo - absolute nonsense.shampoo contains about 1/100th of saw palmetto, and palmetto contains about 1/300 of the active beta sitosterol. so contains 1/30 000th of the active ingredient.
and it won't absorb through the scalp either. so you are literally 30,000 steps away from solving hair loss.

Maca Cashews - just silliness

the exotic scam - It's from China! Well, then it must grow hair.
The U.S.A. cured polio and put a man on the moon but - darn it! - we just can't seem to keep up with the rest of the world and their marvelous hair loss cures.

Anonymous testimonial - John Smith tried it and John Smith thinks he sees more hairs in the mirror. Forget all those medical and research journals
- If John Smith thinks he sees more hairs, it's gotta be the cure for baldness

poor circulation- What your scalp really needs is more blood. Then your hair can grow. Of course, even a bald scalp bleeds profusely when cut, but ignore this.

fish oil - Fish oil lowered mitochondrial activity and increased
oxidative stress in… Atlantic Salmon, wow fish oil sucks even for fish

flax oil - great for wood varnish
Hemp oil - great for alternative fuel in cars
Sunflower - great for lubrication in industrial machinery
cod liver oil - great for clocks and antique cogs
walnut oil - great for painting oil canvases
chia oil - rancid and destroys health

whey protein : surprisingly unmentioned so far. contains tryptohpan, methionine, cysteine. inflammatory proteins. avoid.

raw water : needs no reasoning

stevia : disgusting supposed replacement for white sugar. never.

banana powder part 2 : but this banana powder is air dried ! the others aren't ! that's special !

most smoothies : gut irritating, which causes serotonin to rise. probably made with raw water too.

anything made in a nutribullet : if you want to mix inedible green vegetables with fruit and water, go ahead.

anything with kale : inedible, toxic, gut irritating food that everyone striving for health seems to eat.

meditating 18 hours a day and living on a peanut : really bad for your hair.

Pomegranate Powder = because society has become so decadent, they no longer eat whole pomegranates

Dragon Herbs Tonic Alchemy 91 products in 1 :
dear oh dear. We have a long day ahead of us with this product.
and , if it did regrow hair, it would be quite difficult to pinpoint what was causing it.
Never has something contained so much yet so little

Dr. Schulze's Superfood Plus Meal Replacement :
another idiot who has put 500 ingredients in one jar and sold it to people

Longevity Tea - total nonsense

"Tao in a Bottle" - complete garbage

"Supreme Protector" - more bullshit

anything on curezone : a freak show where people live on lentils and iodine . most pessimistic, gloomy, badly layed out forum on the internet.

Natural Hygiene : more eating disorders from people trying to be spiritual. been searching for the perfect diet for 150 years and they still haven't figured anything out

matcha powder : the new wonder superfood that does it all.
actually, just another irrelevance for the supplement scrapyard

emu oil - this doesn't work. it took me 5 years to come to this decision.

youngagain.org topical solution : this man literally recommends the same 12 supplements for literally every problem in existence, including hair loss. no , it doesn't really work anyway

praying over raw chocolate :
still as toxic and inedible as ever. some company actually does this. (google it )
must be brewed or roasted as ancient cultures did, or just buy a regular quality bar, without soy lecithin though

however you may need a prayer if you eat it

the stanley bass diet :
literally had an eating disorder for 80 years of his life, which started when he was 15.
came to the conclusion, avoid all fruit, live on nuts/seeds/avocados and olives. a salad and an egg yolk.
supplements with fish oil.

it's the blind leading the blind out there.

"holy hemp" : makes you a believer

"sacred chocolate" : good with humble pie

" Superfood Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix" : sold on street corners

raw cigarette lighters : even I am confused by this one

organic cigarette papers : does this need an explanation

elixirs : more quackery

ormus gold : doesn't regrow hair. however it may have interesting uses.

Sacha Inchi : another magic food that third worlders are desperate to get rid of to gullible consumers

Organic Yacon Root Powder - lies

agave syrup - more lies

Mangosteen - even more lies

breatharianism :
"breatharians
aka
deatharians

I wish you all the best of dumb luck with your retarded "Lightarian" rubbish. I hope you realise you have a serious disorder and should seek real help. You are nothing more than a member of another Starvation Cult that will only lead
you to your ultimate demise. 2012? Aliens?? Bollocks. None of that *** is real, and no, you aren't an alien either, dip-stick.

Lightarian is really code for "Deatharian", which is the path you're really on, but you are truly too ignorant, blind and arrogant to ever see that about yourself. So long, douche-bag."

youtube.com/user/adkpinecone -
this man literally gives out the worst hair loss advice EVER.
even though I admit I give out bad and wrong advice sometimes, this man takes it to new levels.
he basically has no ideas, no idea of what causes hair loss, no blood tests, nothing
instead he says take saw palmetto, eat nuts/seeds and fruit and vegetables and healthy meat and your hair regrows,
and he has been studying hair loss for 5 years. don't end up like him - completely dammed ignorant and clueless

beta sitosterol :

if you believe DHT causes hair loss, take it.
If you believe something else does, avoid it. you don't have to take it.
It is certainly very dubious to use it for hair loss, I would not really recommend it, but only if someone believed the DHT theory.
tread lightly with it.

Dragon’s Blood,Sangre de Grado, a tree bark extract :

Used by people who believe "polyphenols procyanidin B-2" are the magic cure for hair loss.
This idea comes from 2 places :
1)applepoly.com, who sell a hair loss product, that may work for one or 2 people. Works really well for some people though.
2) david wolfe said cacao bark cures baldness, based on a similar idea of procyanidin and polyphenols

It doesn't work folks. rubbing polyphenols in your head from tree barks or apples won't cure baldness

ant powder :

deserves a re-mention for laughs

hairloss-research.org :

as of the 18th of may, 2015, it remains the world's most outdated website, but i will re-post my opinion again.
also one of the world's most ignorant hair loss researchers

emu oil -  no, does not work for most people
Oral Resveratrol/Curcumin - can be good
Theaflavin - debunked already
L-Taurine/Green Tea/Zinc - yes, good,
Grape Seed Extract w/Resveratol and Pterostilbene - yes, good
Super Absorbable Soy Isoflavones - no comment
Super Absorbable Tocotrienols - no comment
Ultra Natural Prostate Formula - just get beta sitosterol or just don't use it anyway

Propecia (Proscar) - nope
Mega Green Tea Extract - can be good
Dr. Proctor's Hair Thinning Formula - no comment. just useless
Ginkgo Biloba Extract - no comment.
Super Omega 3 EPA/DHA - no, I avoid fish oils, because of the work by raypeat
L-lysine - excellent
Iron Protein Plus - good for women only

living on water and sprouts = stress hormones, body goes into hibernation mode,
eating normally                         = low stress hormones, normal body temperature, body goes into fully functioning mode.

hairlossbuddy.com:
mind numbing, DHT blocking quackery,
took him 3 years to regrow about 20 hairs.

apple polyphenols - may work for some people. only product to offer a full refund if you don't regrow hair.
trx2 - i don't believe this will "work", although may halt hair loss. basically a glorified niacin product.

mushroom update :
"mostly grain powder " - expert who tested them , literally all the mushroom supplements.
this is a video of a supplement expert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIuZ_wTy_IQ
http://www.thehumanbluprint.com/podcast/7-1       - You’re buying mostly Grain Powder!!! 22:22

DIM (Diindolylmethane)
I3C (Indole-3-Carbinol)
Caldium D glucuronate
sulforaphane         -   all lower your good hormones and bad hormones. there's better ways to stop estrogen.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12665522

spironolactone :
"Reversal of andro-genetic alopecia in a male. A spironolactone effect?"

If you read the study, the man took it for 6 years before he regrew hair.  avoid it.
literally, even though the results of the study are interesting

Scientifically backed ideas that you can use now for hair growth :

LLLT - 10 mins a day, or 20 mins every other day. must be the proper type though.

Vitamin a topically, vitamin d topically, on wrist

liquid zinc - essential for skin and hair
liquid copper - to balance the zinc. also for Cytochrome c to make sure the LLLT works.

oxidal - a mixture of caffeine, methylene blue - to maximize mitochondria. works similar to LLLT.
http://www.longecity.org/forum/topic/87712-methylene-blue-is-the-same-as-lllt-is-this-true/

vitamin b1
vitamin b2
niacinamide
p5p
biotin - all of those increase mitochondria.
b5, b12, b9, PABA , choline/inositol can be avoided.

vitamin k2 15mg capsule - to balance vitamin d and a
pregnenolone capsules - for hormonal support

before bed if they make you tired :
lysine
taurine
glycine - to build healthy collagen. they also have many other benefits.
proline and beta alanine also help

Do you know what you're talking about?
First off, DHT is the proven cause of androgenic alopecia. If you disagree with the majority of the hairloss community, you need to back up your claims. Second, ADKpinecone is one of the more knowledgeable hairloss researchers. Although I don't agree with his political views, I do believe he has the right idea of the complex prrocess of hairloss. In fact, most of my hairgrowth views have been inspired by the videos I've seen of his. My views differ in that I believe veganism can cure 30% of cases of hairloss.

My guide for growing back hair:
1. Going vegan - It's backed by solid research https://www.youtube.com/user/NutritionFactsOrg/videos
Going fruitarian or juicearian will be even better for your hair. Not sure how it works, but haven't you ever wondered why people who fast for months have some of the thickest hair?
2. Lower DHT - Going vegan should be enough for this since plant foods are high in beta-sitosterol
3. Stop masturbating - This will destroy your hair. Yesterday I decided to do it once and then I felt like doing it again and again... I ended up masturbating at least 5 times yesterday, which is becoming a normal number for me. This is not healthy for your hair.
4.Go to sleep early - Probably the most important step

If you want to learn the science of growing back hair, you need to get your information from the right source.

adkpinecone is good, but he's brainwashed by FOX news and republicans. Avoid his political videos and watch his health videos. Intelligent man.
Durianriders is a good example of one. He has dedicated his life to health.

Make sure to vote Hillary Clinton.

Absolutely hilarious how john turns this thread onto the topic of politics with a massive tangent.  I simply won't bother reading any more of his posts.

Not all Clinton supporters are that arrogant, please don't hate us.

haha, I have no problem with john3333 and rather enjoy his posts, I just hate politics and laugh at every ignorant fool that campaigns for one side or the other. All candidates are equally terrible and who wins is irrelevant. But I must admit, I do have a special disdain for Hillary as she exhibits all the qualities that I despise.

Long time reader, first time commenter. I always enjoy your posts, and have made it a point to read most of them in the archives.
Very informative. Thanks for your contributions.

A question: what is the better way you allude to for reducing Estrogen rather than taking DIM, etc? I had no idea DIM also had an
effect on androgens, and am now questioning the advice I got to start taking DIM.

Thanks!

Thanks!

In what way does he contribute?
Maybe trying to be radical, and just adding docent work on everything people posts here?
What does work is the same, and changes his theory in every post, but some actually take him seriously.

Since his posts are informative, please share for us your conclusion of his posts?
Or maybe the originator himself should inform us regarding his theory, instead of making a new list every month.

Just buy every vitamin, mineral supplement possible to be on the safe side, since it´s the only red line i can track of his informative posts, and nowadays called natural.

I do respect other opinions.

I have never liked adkpinecone because his research is so vague. He literally tells people to eat more fruits and vegetables to grow hair. Where is the hard science here ?
An average raypeat article has about 30 studies backing it up.

DHT does not cause hair loss or prostate problems, or every 18 year old would have prostate cancer and trouble urinating.

Yes, the study said DIM reduced all hormones, including estrogen. I don't like that. There's better ways to reduce estrogen.

Veganism is unscientific.
Ray Peat at least uses science to justify what amino acids you need,
(glycine/proline/taurine / gelatin   --- not steak, methionine/cysteine/tryptophan )
what fat you need,
(coconut oil, not soybean oil, sunflower and other oils)
and what sugar you need
(fruit, honey, not bread, potatoes and rice)

My views on diet :

wheatgrass/spirulina diet - just silly. may actually cause hair loss because it puts so much stress on the body

fruit diet - mixed results. fruit and animal food would be an ideal diet though

sprouts diet - more silliness. dangerous. the man who advocates it admits in youtube videos he goes inside a closet and binges on ice cream. I am absolutely serious, he really did admit that in a youtube video.

atkins diet - unscientific. may also cause hair loss.

"a healthy diet " - brown rice, salmon, avocados, quinoa, a green smoothie. just rubbish, let's be honest.

vegan diet - causes hair loss and tooth loss. avoid.

a traditional diet - using broth/oxtail/marrow, instead of flesh meat. get enough sugar, salt and fat. no grains, seeds, nuts, avocados or olives.dairy and sugar allowed. white rice too. it's good and makes sense.

a very simple diet - white rice, oxtail and some fruit and milk, coffee and chocolate.. The truth is, this could regrow hair.

the zone diet - convoluted complex rubbish.

a smoothie diet - raw vegetables stress the body. avoid.

raw diets - stress the body and cause hair loss. powdered superfoods are dangerous.

juice fasting - doesn't regrow hair so don't do it. what else do you need to know ?

You can't talk about raw diet until you try it. It's been used for centuries to cure everything from cancer to ulcers. I've eaten this salad many times, and it's good. I recommend it for Peatarians to get some fiber and phytonutrients into their diet.
I've been watching this guy for a long time and he's the one who got me interested in veganism and juicearianism.
I like him more than Durianrider definitely. Durianrider eats too much white rice.
His diet mostly consists of bananas, avocados, coconuts, juice, fruits and vegetables. His diet is probably around 50%+ or more liquid(juice and coconut water)  He'll probably live to 100+ if he continues on that diet.

I've lived on a 75% fruit diet, with 25% dairy like yoghurt.

it "works", yes I felt a bit better.

Meditation is actually good for the hair. It increases telomerase activity in hair follicles and the entire body. But peanuts are terrible. They cause acne.

This is one of the secrets of Okinawa. Sure, they eat an almost entirely vegan diet, but they also exercise and meditate.

We've known for a long time that health and diseases originate in the mind. This is why I always try to be kind to people. Maybe one day a study will find that just like we can grow strength with our minds alone, we can grow our hair back with our minds alone. Maybe our minds don't just affect our bodies, but everything around us too. After all, Earth is only one organism according to the Gaia Theory. This is why I practice generosity to humans and animals.

We can't be sure what works or doesn't work since our body chemistry and mental attitudes are different
