Topical 5ar inhibitors?

Yeah I was trying to put together a list of topical 5ar inhibitors; drugs excluded.

Also, could someone please explain to me how they work? From what I've read, it keeps testosterone from turning into DHT; but it seems like if it were applied topically, then it would be too late, or wouldn't be very effective, as t to DHT conversion would already be happening in the rest of the body... Does it block the DHT also, or just keep it from forming? I am confused. Thanks.

topical dht inhibiting drugs are effective, and they are effective because they inhibit dht. i see no reason why non-drugs couldnt be effective.

topical progesterone is one old school approach you could try.

some inhibitors bind to the androgen receptor which prevents dht from doing so, and some inhibit it's formation.

Yeah, I'd like to make a topical using an emu oil/ coconut oil base
