pyrrolidone carboxylic acid for skin moisturizing?
Just stumbled over this http://www.iherb.com/Twinlab-Na-PCA-Non-oily-8-fl-oz-237-ml/2419?at=0
Looks very promising from the reviews, maybe I'll buy it with my next order.....
CS, could you comment on the safty of PCA and the other ingredients used, would help me make a decision: Na-PCA (the sodium salt or pyrrolidone carboxylic acid), eucalyptus, ethanol, monolaurin (the principal antimicrobial factor in mother's milk)
If it proves to be effective(and I tried a lot of things), I could write a review for healthyfixx or this site!

Is your skin dry enough to be noticeable in photos? If this turns out to be an excellent product then we'd be happy if you'd write up a Hands On experience.

I've tried this product, and it actually seemed to dry my skin out more because of the ethanol content.

Thanks for sharing j87x, have you found another solution for yourself?

Around 3g per day of pumpkin seed oil. Topically either coconut oil/shea butter/aloe gel, also swiched soap to Doctor Woods shea vision.pancacke wrote:Thanks for sharing j87x, have you found another solution for yourself?

I haven't noticed much from my attempts with coconut oil, currently mixing it with emu but still not great. Maybe I'll try shea butter, can you recommend a good source j87x?

Re: pyrrolidone carboxylic acid for skin moisturizing?
I got a tub of unrefined shea butter from amazon. I mix a tiny bit with coconut oil and aloe gel so it's not as thick/greasy. I doubt it will moisturize much better than coconut oil though. You may want to look into hyaluronic acid, internally or look for a lotion with it, or you could mix some capsules in a lotion. Urea is also supposed to retain moisture in the skin.sdguy wrote:I haven't noticed much from my attempts with coconut oil, currently mixing it with emu but still not great.
