Comments on results please? (esp. from Immortal)
Hi there
I did a hair mineral analysis recently and got the following results back. How could these readings affect hair loss?
The ones in bold are highlighted as areas that I need to focus on.
Am currently using Promox, Niz, .25 Proscar. In terms of vitamins I take ALA, a multi mineral, Biotin and a Vit B supplement along with fish oil for EFA's

averagejoe001 - For the sulfur, MSM is a good source for this, or taking NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine).
Many mineral supplements are short on Magnesium (or they use a cheap oxide mineral as the only source).
Consider taking extra magnesium. Magnesium Potassium Aspartate would probably be ideal for you.

It's interesting that you are below target on almost everything.

Perhaps the provider of the analysis also provides costly solutions for people getting below the targets?

Looking over your chart, I can recommend the following to get you back on track:
- Start taking ALL oratic minerals. Zinc Oratate, Potassium Oratate, Calcium Oratate, and Magnesium Oratate. Also, start using Magnesium Oil (PureMagOil.com).
- Start upping your protein consumption significantly. Namely--eggs and whey isolate (nutrabio.com).
- The FULL regime should take care of everything else.

From my own experience, I can tell you Nid is right on the money with eating extra protein. And good proteins should help w/ mineral absorbancy. I personally feel healthiest when I am eating lots and lots of eggs.. like 6 a day on average. Cook them slow with lots of butter (not a threat - correct me if I am wrong) or healthy fats like coconut or palm oil.

If you are looking to get high protein high minerals you may want to look into spirulina and hemp protein. Spirulina is vastly superior to all other proteins available bar none. All cooked proteins loose half their protein count and that does not even take into account what is left to be absorbed whereas spirulina is 86% absorbable.
If price and edibility are a large concern the other recommendations should be effective as well.

You gotta tell us where you got this done. It seems fishy to me.

Fluoride is a neurotoxin, there is no need for it whatsoever.

Shhh, IH, the Aluminum industry might hear you!
I'll cook my eggs in coconut oil, scrambled. Once I'm on my own and get my diet and everything back in order, life's going to go like this. 6 raw eggs blended with whey protein in the morning, 6 hard-broiled to eat during the day, adn 6 scrambled. I'll get some Spirulina and Hemp protein in my diet at some point as well.

Thanks for the comments so far, however the thing that concerns me is that I've been taking a lot of Fish oil and 5mg Biotin but I still have deficiencies in that area? Any ideas?

averagejoe001 - I'm not certain if a hair analysis test is accurate on EFA's, also a hair analysis test is usually high subject to the interpreter it has some paradoxes in the how the results are read.
That said, you're probably not really EFA deficient. On the other hand, some can take well over a year of EFA's supplementation before they have hit a proper saturation point.
