Cheap Magnesium Oil
I am very pleased with their Magnesium Gel with Seaweed extract product.

Personally, I was a hold-out on the mag oil bandwagon, and know think it is an essential addition to the reg.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Which product would you get for topical use on the scalp? The oil or the oil w/seaweed gel?
Also how are you guys applying it? Rub a few drops in while showering and rinse off?
I'm going to try this -- just want to know how to add it in.

I ordered both. My personal preference is the gel. I leave it on overnight and shower it off in the morning.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
NIDHOGGE,
how are you applying it? Rub a few drops in while showering and rinse off?
Is it enough if it stays just a couple of mins on scalp??Or better leave it on overnight?
Should I use it everyday? I also use coconut oil, should I alter them each night?
What results can I expect?Possible regrowth?

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
You can get possible regrowth and thickening. I pour some oil into 4 oz. amber bottle with a dropper, and apply 5-8 dropperfuls onto my head after rinsing the shampoo out. I massage it in good, and do no rinse it out. I just towel dry after and leave it on.
I perused the FAQ, and the reason that the Mag. Oil is cheaper is the source--it comes from the lakes and not the ocean like puremagoil.com. The quality won't be quite as good in terms of mineral content, but I would use this oil for foot soaking and other transdermal applications (deodorant for one). The gel is very interesting as well, along with their other products (Mag. Prills for example).

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
I ordered the gel 2 days ago and it got here today.
I just used it during the shower and my scalp feels really nice after.
The gel bottle says to mix it with shampoo 1:1 so I mixed it with a non SLS shampoo I had and used it that way and rinsed.
After rinsing, I put a few drops on my head like Nid suggested.
My only question is why put it on your feet and in your armpits?

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
does anyone know how significant the difference might be in using this product on the scalp as opposed to the ocean-derived one...the price difference seems to be quite big, but im wondering whether the therapeutic difference is as significant?

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Quick question -- when you apply this to your scalp, is there a tingling/almost burning sensation that goes away after about 15 mins? Is that a normal reaction?
Like I said, it went away w/in 15 mins and quite honestly everything feels nice and tight and good up there.
Just want to make sure that wasn't an atypical reaction.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
hadrion - It's totally normal and expected. If one were to rub on Magnesium oil and not feel any heat, then it could be a sign of either a faulty internal magnesium pump or just bad Mag oil. There have been some incidence (rare) where no heat is felt initially when IV Magnesium is driven into a patient, but upon higher dosages or a faster feed, the heat will eventually kick in and restore the magnesium pump.
Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
IH--
I'm worried now that you said that about not feeling the heat. For a couple months I felt the heat, but lately, not anymore. I left the cap off my Magnesium Oil for a week or so and perhaps oxidization altered it. I have no clue. I'm hoping that it's OK. I have another 1/2 gallon so maybe I should pop that open and see if the warm feeling returns. If not, then maybe I'm just acclimated to it to the point where my scalp doesn't warm to it? Who knows...gotta experiment.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
nidhogge - Try using some of the older stuff and rubbing it fast and firmly into the underside of your arm, if there's no heat, it might be worrisome. Of course I suppose it's possible to get acclimated, but really don't know.
Let me know if the newer stuff has a different effect.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Is the heat the burning from the salt? For this reason I am interested in the premium version with the salt removed. I'm concerned that it is too drying for the face, scalp and hands.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Gibson - The heat comes from the Magnesium, which is a reactive mineral. Anytime I use the stuff on other parts of my body, I always have to rinse it off, gets pretty sticky, in a salty sort of way.
Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Thanks for the clarification. I'll keep that in mind the next time I use it.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
Transdermal magnesium being in it's infancy CS...personally are you sold on it? It looks like a product that is a recipe for a scam that can be sold at high margins. Defintley not saying it's the case but i'd like to hear you're thoughts. Mark Sircus also is said to have a pretty shady past/history.

Re: Cheap Magnesium Oil
The mag is without doubt absorbed transdermally. I base this on empirical evidence. My sleep has vastly improved since doing a nightly foot soak, directly correlating with the mag oil.
