Minoxidil vs Lugols/IOSOL/SSKI (especially for those trying to get off of minox)
I started using minoxidil for the second go around back in October and I've gotten some results, but I regret it because I don't want to use this poison for the rest of my life, but I'm scared to death of the shed I'm sure to undergo if I stop using it now. So I'm trying to figure out a way to avoid that shed.
I think I remember reading a post saying that SSKI could be used in place of minox. My question is whether one could obtain the same effect if they are a good responder to minox. Since minox opens up potassium channels, it seems logical that applying topical potassium in high doses would have the same effect, possibly better, minus the side effects.
If this is the case, and the two routes are comparible, I'm wondering if one could avoid the minox dependency shed by using something like SSKI, Lugols or IOSOL. CS??

Yanks - Perhaps alternating with Magnesium oil and Potassium Chloride on the scalp.
Iodine is worth trying also, but its mechanism is different.

Hmm so would the mag oil and potassium chloride open up potassium channels? I'm confused on how the two would work synergistically.

Try Andenogen:

This is a better alternative to minox than Mag oil IME. Currently, it is the only topical I use.

Thanks albe! I'll post some of my other questions on that thread, but I have another I guess I should just ask here...
Has anyone ever seen any study or evidence of massage opening up potassium channels?
