Hey IH,

I just bought some lard and BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) is in it, anything to worry about?

Thanks!

Joejoebaggins - No, not at all. BHT is actually good for you, despite what you may hear from other sources. BHT is available as a supplement and is good to take for a variety of circumstances. BHT is added to prevent the rancidity of fats.

You're the man IH. I was hoping I wouldn't have to give it up!

Thanks!

While were on the topic of BHT..

IH, I was excited about what I was hearing about BHT from you in terms of its ability to wipe out lipid-encased viruses. I ordered some earlier but have kind of been holding off working it into my regimen. If I wanted to take as a preventative, how would you recommend I do that? I have just about a lifetime supply of it in the plastic jug it came in 300 grams.. was only like $12.

How much do you think I should take a day? This is important cuz I cant seem to find much good information about it anywhere – and believe me I’ve looked.

And how should I take it.. mix it into a drink?

Btw, the BHT I have came in form of little plastic-like pellets that are about the size of large grains of sand (but smooth and round). They dont really dissolve very well in the mouth - when you chew them it sounds/feels like chewing on styrofoam beads. Any suggestions IH?

Thank you!

Project: JS - I should have provided you with a link for the stuff in the capsules.

Between 100 and 300 mg is good to take.

IH:is it safe to take milk thistle while supplementing with BHT? Are there other supplements that that should not be taken with BHT?

Ramjet - The only thing to avoid when taking BHT is alcohol.

I second you on that IH, when I first got my order of BHT I took some and then drank later on, I got drunk (as hell) much faster than usual and stayed that way for a lot longer than usual.. pretty wild effect. Beware..
