1.... - This topic comes up a lot, but it's understandable, given the fear that one of the safest minerals on the planet conjures up. It is one of the safest minerals and jdp170 supplied some interesting information in these pages about how the discover of vitamin C took a gram (that's a 1,000 milligrams) of iodine everyday and lived well into this 90's before he died.

The reason iodine is so feared all started with the Wolff-Chaikoff Effect

CS, is it really a concern? I mean the majority of people taking iodine are taking well over the daily value. How common is this effect?
