1..... - Let's compare the two (first, Mercola's)

1,000 mg genuine Krill Oil
150 IU vitamin A
400 mg omega-3 rich phospholipids
90 mg EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)
50 mg DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
20 mg omega-6 fatty acids
600 mcg astaxanthin

Now NKO

Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) 1.0 g (1,000 mg) †
Omega-3 Fatty Acids 300 mg †
Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) 150 mg
Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) 90 mg
Other Omega-3 Fatty Acids 60 mg †
Omega-6 Fatty Acids 20 mg †
Omega-9 Fatty Acids 100 mg †
Phospholipids 400 mg †
Esterified Astaxanthin 1.25 mg
Choline 70 mg

Now has more EPA and DHA than Mercola, but to be fair to Mercola, his expensive stuff incorporates a superior encapsulation technology that offers a better seal than the traditional gelcap. However, Now brand makes this irrelevant because the extra amounts of EPA/DHA and Astaxanthin more than make up for it.

How does this Krill Oil compare?

Per 500mg softgel;

Omega 3 - 25%
Omega 6 - 2.6%
Omega 9 - 20%
EPA 11.8%
DHA 7.2%
Phosophilipids 30.3 %
Astaxanthin 24mg/ 100g

Slightly confusing due to it being a smaller dose and being measured in percentages.

Any opinions much appreciated.

For easy comparison I just doubled the 500 mg into 1000 mg for a single serving (two gelcaps)

EPA 118
DHA 72
Phopholipids 303 mg
Astaxanthin 24 micrograms or .024 milligrams (very small here)

CS,

what do you think about jarrow's omega 3?

Jarrow Formulas, EPA-DHA Balance, 2:1 Ratio, 420mg EPA - 210mg DHA, 240 Softgels

http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-EPA-DHA-Balance-2-1-Ratio-420mg-EPA-210mg-DHA-240-Softgels/7929?at=0

seems to have very good ratios...
