Started my Regimen. Empty Started my Regimen.

Post  Decro435 Thu Aug 27, 2009 6:34 am

Okay, I know this is like the 5th thread about my Regimen but here it is, I recieved it today by and expectionally impressive courier DHL, tracked it the whole way! Cool

Anyway, this is what I'm now using and it won't change from here:

- Gamma E Complex (gamma-Tocopherol) - Don't know the exact dosage, but I take 2 Tablets.
- Borage Oil - 1050mg.
- Vitamin D3 - 10,000IU.
- Super Bio-Cucurmin - 400mg.
- Resveratrol - 200mg.
- Krill Oil - 1000mg.
- Fibroboost - 2 Tablets.
- Iosol Iodine - 2 Drops (V. low Dosage)
- Stinging Nettle Root Extract - 250mg.
- Extra Strength Ginkgo Extract - 240mg.
- MSM - 4500mg.
- L-Lysine - 2000mg.
- L-Arginine - 2000mg.

I'm also taking Maxi-Hair Supplement from Country Life:

Vitamin A (as retinyl palmitate) 5,000 I.U. 100%
Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid, rose hips) 200 mg 333%
Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocophyryl acid succinate) 50 I.U. 167%
Thiamin (vitamin B-1)(as thiamine HCI) 30 mg 2,000%
Riboflavin (vitamin B-2) 50 mg 2,941%
Niacin (as niacinamide) 50 mg 2,941%
Vitamin B-6 (as pyridoxine HCI) 50 mg 2,500%
Folic Acid 400 mcg 100%
Vitamin B-12 (as cyanocobalamin) 50 mcg 833%
d-Biotin 2,000 mcg 667%
Pantothenic Acid (as d-calcium pantothenate) 50 mg 500%
Calcium (as calcium carbonate) 200 mg 20%
Iodine (as kelp) 225 mcg 150%
Zinc (as zinc amino acid chelate) 15 mg 100%
Selenium (as selenium amino acid chelate) 50 mcg 71%
Copper (as copper amino acid chelate) 1 mg 50%
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) 600 mg *
L-Methionine (free form) 250 mg *
Canola Fatty Acid Complex (source of unsaturated fatty acids, linolenic & oleic acids) 200 mg *
Horsetail Extract 2:1 (leaf/stem) 100 mg *
L-Cysteine (as L-cysteine HCI) 100 mg *
Inositol 50 mg *
PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) 50 mg *
Choline (from 50 mg choline bitartrate)

Topically I'm using:

Olive oil and ACV 5 minutes before shower. In the shower I use T/Gel and a reputable conditioner. I used to take Berocca, but due to the danger of overdosing on some Vitamins and Minerals I will probably stop it.

Anyway, I recieved all this today and I began laying the pills out. There were like 25 or so pills, I was nervous about popping all those pills. Can anyone outline side effects I can be out on the look for with any of these, also is there anyway to specifically implement these?. Popping them all at the same time over a glass of water just doesn't seem right?

How does one have the time and money to take all of that every day? That's a serious amount of pills.

Maxi hair is good
keep taking it,
take it with a big meal
try to buy a separate chelated mineral, it will help immensely with the bodys absorbtion of the maxi hair

i Dont know if starting all those at the same time is a good idea
why not try the maxi hair, and a few of the others phase it in over time, do not shock your system

You do not need to take MSM separately its in the maxi hair

try to avoid duplicating your regimen

Decro435 - Nothing wrong what what I see here, other than using Arginine (recommend dropping it). Lysine isn't really necessary either unless you're a vegan.

Hopefully there are some tocotrienols in your gamma E complex besides the tocopherols, since a large dose of tocopherols can inhibit dietary tocotrienols which are much more potent.

I'm not really sure if the olive oil or the ACV will do anything, but it shouldn't hurt either. I've tried both but not together.

I would say start with maybe the maxi hair, and the circ and resver then gradually see how your body reacts, then ask the board, what should I add next? dont just start gulping all those pills in one day

Arginine can promote iNOS, the inducible form of nitric oxide which is inflammatory. The other reason is that arginine can increase prolactin.

I take extra MSM, because 600mg of MSM is not adequate.

I'll take your reccomendation CS and drop Arginine, I only took it because I already had it.

I've been taking Maxi-hair for about 4 months or so, it hasn't made any impact on my situation.

Olive oil and ACV have made my head feel a lot better, so I'll continue using it. I actually think It might have slowed down my loss.

I'd love to know of any interactions between the supplements and of the times of when to take them. Taking them all at the same time doesn't feel right. Any reccomendations?

I just want to say Good Luck Decro,

I have followed your stories on this forum and others, and your maturity and systemtic approach deserves somesort of reward, So I truley wish you the best.

I am in the same boat as yourself, and have Just started my regime also, so it will be interesting to see how we get on. I havent ordered any or have any DHT Blockers as they now the scare the hell out of me, and i would like to get rid pf a few niggling sexual sides before starting anything new, but please let me know how you get on with the nettal extract. or any other DHT blockers

All the best!

Ha, I don't know about mature but yeah I try and treat hair loss as realistically as possible. I know It's impossible for me not to go bald, at least without the use of a potent 5-AR inhibitor like Finasteride. But, I'm going to try and hold it off as long as possible! Cheers for the encouragment!

I'll keep everyone updated!

Post  Decro435 Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:39 am

I hate to post so early, but only on my second consumption of this regimen, I notice a difference in inflammation on the scalp. If you have read any of my previous posts you will have noticed I have reported intense inflammation (itching) of the scalp most likely due to the aggressiveness of my AGA. I'm extremely used to this, but if it was introduced to anyone now it would drive them insane as it did to me earlier in my progression. The only time I ever saw a reduction in the itching was when I was taking Finasteride. It was clearly connected to DHT, lets hope that in this case it's not connected with DHT directly and with what DHT does. Reduction in DHT has resulted in side effects previously so I do not want to mess around again. This is a good indication that my regimen is working, hopefully it will continue. Very Happy

Fin addresses DHT in a different way than saw palmetto pygeum nettles and other natural dht blockers
the naturals do not reduce serum DHT levels (a bad thing if they would do this) Finasteride has been shown to reduce serum DHT levels , perhaps a reason for some of the side effects

Is there any evidence to back up these claims HanginInthere?

I've seen this many times but it always seems to never be backed up. Anyway, It's my third day and I've seen a pretty amazing reduction in inflammation, scalp feels better than it has in at least a year. Also, my mood has been better than ever, this is more than I expected for only my third use... I believe the mood change is most likely to do with the Vitamin D. No change in hair loss yet, not that I expected any this early! Cool

Okay, arginine powder is off the list for me now. Speaking of NO, what are your thoughts on niacin? I noticed there's some info on niacinamide in your website in your "theory in practice" section, but nothing on niacin. From what i understand, they work differently. Do you think there could be some advantage to using niacin as well?

Do all forms of Arginine do this, or just L-Arginine? For a long time, you took Arginine Pyroglutamate.

jksl - Yes, regular flush niacin does have some advantages but to use it may not be pleasant for the user. Niacin lowers Lipoprotein(a), lowers triglycerides, blood pressure, increases HDL, and is a co-factor in ATP production.

The problem is the flush, and for some of these advantages a relatively large dose is needed. I've had a lot of friends take 500 milligrams on an empty stomach over the years--they wanted to try it despite the warning. It's only partial relief to soak in the bathtub for a half-hour because it feels like a sunburn with all that histamine being cleared out. About ten years ago I used to recommend it as blood pressure reducer and it worked very well. I had them take 100 milligrams the first week and increase the dosage to an additional 100 milligrams each week after until they reached 1,500 milligrams. The body will adjust slowly to the flush, but it is still noticed just not as bad. I had a colleague who suffered from schizophrenia, he took 1,500 milligrams daily and as long as he took it, he was perfectly stable.
