multivitamin
Can somebody suggest a really good multivitamin? So many products out there are filled with cheap ingredients like Magnesium Oxide / synthetic B vitamins / Iodine from kelp / Cellulose etc. If not what is the alternative way to get all these minerals in natural form and where can I get them?

Re: multivitamin
I take brewer's yeast, because I find that the very few non-synthetics are very expensive, such as New-Chapter, Mega Foods, Vitamin Code, Standard Process, etc.

I also alternate between Spirulina and Chlorella for extra nutrients (RNA/DNA in particular)
For seasoning and health I use himalayan salt, a source of 80 minerals.
I do take extra Magnesium & Iodine but that's about it.

Re: multivitamin
I've been taking NSI once a day vitamins (never paid attention to synthetic materials, etc just focused on content) for a few years now to fill nutrition gaps and aid in recovery from the gym. Now that I'm taking the top 6 including brewers yeast is it okay to abandon the multi or should I stick with it or a better whole food source vitamin? Also I see in a previous post someone posted the mercola multi, anyone have any feedback on this brand? Good price for a whole food based source multi.

Re: multivitamin
I'd wager that this is the best milti-vitamin money can buy. Seriously. The company is run by and individual who is so obsessed with product that it seems he has actually hurt business: he will not outsource production, and there is no marketing. I actually bet the Web site scares potential customers away. Because he won't outsource, his product line has shrunk--when i first discovered their vitamins, they had a full line of offerrings: a b-plex with reveratrol, an E vitamin with selenium, etc.

CS,
going gluten free do you believe that the impact of the gluten existing in brewer's yeast is important? It's a remarkable supplement and perhaps the only one that i can surely tell an immediate difference while on it.My skin clears up fast from any imperfections and my scalp and facial oil decrease significantly.I have a bunch of NOW's BY in stock and i'm reluctant to throw them away as as I am quite satisfied with the product and Lewis Labs brand is expensive as hell while also containing glutamate that i'm willing to avoid .
So is it fine if i use the BY or i should drop it completely if being on a minimum as possible gluten free diet? I assume my only source of gluten right now is BY and some plain vinegar
I also alternate between Spirulina and Chlorella for extra nutrients (RNA/DNA in particular)
Do you take those in capsule form? Can you post a link for your products? How much do you takeper day?

Re: multivitamin
edony - I should state that I am far from perfect on removing wheat and gluten from my diet. I actually eat a tiny amount of wheat everyday, just not very much of it.
As far as Glutamate, I do not avoid that at all. jdp710, however is and believes it plays a part and he has noted that it may or may not applicable to others. MSG (monosodium glutamate) on the other hand isn't so great and I'm pretty certain I'm eating some of this, just without being aware of it. MSG is best to avoid, b/c it stimulates too much insulin.
Whether glutamic acid or glutamine is a problem though I'm not really worried about it personally, but may affect others.
The Now Brewer's Yeast I use is essentially a whole food product and I am fairly certain it contains yet unidentified nutrients yet discovered in there. If I am wrong, then it at least contains an active matrix of nutrient used in their biological order with a high amount of activity.
I am acne free as long as I am take this stuff.
Yes, I take Spirulina and Chlorella in capsule form, only my preference.
For Spirulina I use http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-100-Natural-Spirulina-500-mg-500-Tablets/783?at=0

Re: multivitamin
CS,
I never used to get any apparent -at least- reaction from wheat .At home we never ate anyway much of pasta or bread.
I never get any digestive issues ,scalp itch ,just occassionaly a pimple may appear after i eat lots of wheat.I just decided to avoid it after reading the bad staff on this forum.
My question is , in case i am intolerant to gluten, are the traces of gluten contained in NOW's brewer yeast enough to cause a bad reaction hairwise?I'm asking you because i remember JDP mentioning that in order to get the hair benefits one should avoid 100% gluten .Even 99% is not enough. What is your take on that?
