What Do you think about Shilajit ?
Hi guys !
I ordered some shilajit on Amazon (one with good reviews) to try.
Its benefits looks amazing :
- Increase NO
- Increase T (via FSH and LH release)
- Doesn't look to increase E nor DHT
- antioxidant / anti inflammatory
- looks to be good for brain, energy, sex driv, stress, weight loss, skin, aging...
But it provides iron.
It seams to be a very good supplement but I wasn't able to find anyything on the forum about it.
Do you have any experience with it ?
Is it good for hair ?

It has other names, but yes it's quite good. I've been taking it for a very long time (well over a decade).
On my site, which is currently under re-construction I use the term humifulvate. Same stuff. (humic and fulvic acid)

I've found it to be incredible for energy, especially when sleep deprived.
It's one of the most powerful supplements I've found for myself personally.
I have been intending to look into it more, but haven't got around to it. There are some great books like Shilajit in Perspective by Shibnath Ghosal which go into great detail, but I've not been able to source a copy.
My understanding is there's a lot more to Shilajit than just the fulvic / humic minerals.

Do you take the actual shilajit resin? Or is it a humic / fulvic acid extract?
I do see a lot of people raising concerns about heavy metal contamination, especially for shilajit sourced from India. I actually stopped taking it for this reason, even though I experienced lots of benefits from it.
I requested a heavy metal analysis from Hybrid Herbs, a brand I've taken myself for a number of years:
I don't really know if these quantities are anything to worry about, but it was enough to put me off at the time.

Re: What Do you think about Shilajit ?
I'd probably need several paragraphs to explain why there's no concern.
The short version is part of the contents supplies only what the body wants (selective) and the other part is a metal binder.
The binder aspect sits in the intestinal membrane and acts like a sort of magnet and attracts various toxic metals with different charges.
So in other words, it will leave one with less toxins and more of the nutrient minerals needed.
What is taken away is sometimes even more beneficial than strictly taking things that add.

Re: What Do you think about Shilajit ?
Just wanted to say that I received it yesterday.
That's an amazing stuff !!!
Just destroy the street workout place with this ! It gives an amazing energy that I also have to work when i use it (I do IF too, I think it helps).
I really look forward to know the effect on the long run. (hair, T, guts...)
