Thiamine eliminates scalp itching
High doses of thiamine (500mg - 1000mg Thiamine) get rid of my scalp itching pretty quickly. I just wanted to put this out here as more of an observation than anything.
I think this could be due to better blood glucose control or some kind of reduction in systemic inflammation / cellular glycation.
My scalp just 'feels' healthier on thiamine.
This might just be me as I have been struggling with blood glucose over the past few months, but if you do have an itchy scalp, it could be well worth just picking up some Thiamine HCL. It's super cheap.
I am a little surprised more people aren't talking about high dose thiamine here given the orthomolecular approach members here use. It does have a lot of use outside of just reducing glycative damage in diabetics.

Re: Thiamine eliminates scalp itching
There's some info probably within this site on thiamine and different forms, such as fat soluble types. Plus when sugar metabolism wanes, thiamine is quickly sacrificed. It's a must have for "cheating" if on low carb.
It's a key intermediate in converting carbohydrates into energy. I'll use allithiamine usually going "off the wagon"

This is one of the better fat soluble forms:
Allithiamine

Also of interest....
Allithiamine is a synthetic form of thiamine (vitamin B1) that can cross the blood-brain barrier more easily than regular thiamine
