Never was a fan of those blue surgical masks anyway. Prefer the cloth ones that have an inside pocket for a filter piece. So that's actually a 3-layered mask...which also makes it a little harder to breathe...especially when it gets wet. How about if we all use those plastic face shields? All we need is wiper blades to wipe away the fog lol.

Science is political. When these scientists write a journal, they have to write politically correct crap in the abstract, and then spill the truth in the long body. This is normal procedure.

You have a point about the placating thing. The long body part is so tedious to read. But masks are the fashion now and I dont think people will revert to normal any time soon if they truly are afraid of this pandemic. And we can still smile by squinting our eyes lol

That study was originally published in last november. They seem to have modified it.
At the time the study clearly said that the 0.3% difference in between mask wearers and non mask wearers was scientifically meaningless. Which it is since it is so miniscule.

Plus this is one of the few observational large scale mask studies that focus on everyday use(which applies to 99.999999999% of the population). Majority of them either have lesser participants or just a bunch of numbers thrown around with no observational evidence.

So what is dr martin saying exactly?
