Near-Infrared Light Eradicates Biofilm
"Rapid Biofilm Eradication on Bone Implants Using Red Phosphorus and Near-Infrared Light."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29923229
The study is saying that red light therapy can help remove mature biofilms. This seems huge to me considering how difficult it is to even kill the bacteria hiding inside of biofilms. I remember JDP saying white vinegar was also a method you could use topically (on the scalp).
I believe this is another reason you should shine red light at your jaw, head, and brain. If we could stop the build-up and fortification of these destructive bacteria, then hair growth should be an easier battle. Some people on other forums have also claimed that near infrared light can help fix jawbone cavitations and other mouth maladies-- which would make it possible to avoid root canals.
Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems important. CS? JDP? You guys have any thoughts on this?

Re: Near-Infrared Light Eradicates Biofilm
interesting research. Shows another reason why to never get an implant (virtual certain autoimmune issues).
Red light works, but avoiding those kinds of interventions is critical.

I've been considering getting a red light device. There doesn't seem to be much consensus on effective protocol though. Lots of variation between devices e.g. this study used wavelength 808nm which is different to the units I've been viewing:

Re: Near-Infrared Light Eradicates Biofilm
If I remember correctly, CS posted a study at one point saying sweating from near-infrared light can get rid of 90% of BPA stored in the body after 30 days. I have been using three red bulbs, pointed at my jaw from both sides, and one above my head. I sweat so much from my temples it's crazy. My theory is that heavy metals, BPA, toxic oils, and other foreign objects get stuck in the thin layers of fat in the scalp.
I think people who practice DT and massage therapy are attempting the same thing by another means.

What wavelength red bulbs are you using, and what other variables (time, distance from head etc.)? I'd be interested to know those details from the study. Sweating is generally helpful but red light is not an area where there is an abundance of hard info afaik.
Metals don't seem to get the same level of discussion on this board that they were a few years ago. The problem is that it's a slow and hard-to-measure process. I think CS still suggests consistently taking saunas and Immune Boost 77 for metals. Unless there have been any recent developments (CS - perhaps you could confirm?)

Because of the safety issue, it's something I avoid discussing much on the boards. The reason is that many people have existing dental work, such as root canals, fillings, etc., that would leave various types of metal detoxification dangerous or less effective.
Also, because of the complexity of heavy metal detox, there are stages of it and different ways to achieve the goal, depending on individual medical history. I wish it were more straight forward, and it would be if so many of us didn't have mysterious metals in our mouths to begin with. Quite often, many people I speak with are not quite certain what types of metals and/or composites they have.
Another point is they removing various types of metals incorrectly can also cause a lot of harm. Definitely not a casual thing and should be researched heavily.
By in large, I would estimate that a lot of hair loss issues have both iatrogenic (doctor or dentist caused) and environmental pollution attached. Not to mention how "food science" has been perverted to such a point of extreme, that people are eating a diet that doesn't help.
I believe that a lot of hair loss issues (not all) are a result of autoimmune because of foreign elements, altered food and environmental pollution. I've definitely exceeded my own hair growth goals since 25 years ago.

Re: Near-Infrared Light Eradicates Biofilm
Hi CS - yes I understand it's not something to be messed with or rushed even though getting metals out may be important. The good news is I don't have any root canals and no longer have mercury fillings - had them removed 8 years ago so no recent or ongoing exposure afaik. But as you said it can be hard for us to know exactly what we may have been exposed to over the years - mercury is the one from my past I feel most sure about.
Safety protocols were used during removal but I'd be surprised if I don't still have some residual issues - they were in my mouth for a decade after all. Is there anything you'd be comfortable suggesting in my case?

Re: Near-Infrared Light Eradicates Biofilm
LLLT as well as EMF devices such as PEMF and the easiest that I’ve used and basically only thing I do for maintenance to prevent hair loss from taking hold again is white vinegar in the shower after shampoo... they all work to combat biofilm.
LLLT and EMF devices are also known to help with jawbone infections and similar issues.
There is a problem and that’s persister cells. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5609227/
Basically where some of the pathogen goes dormant and also through something called quorum sensing, the pathogens will communicate with themselves to find if it’s safe to reproduce again and even to branch off to infect other areas.
Lllt, emf devices and vinegar will only work so long as one keeps up With treatment. Once one stops everything starts up all over again eventually.
So notexactly a cure but good treatment method.
I should mention for several years based on experiments cleaning mold in shower that oxyclean has worked fairly well and may be helpful in these persister cells. Maybe. Seems to keep mold from reestablishing itself in same areas. Probably not a good idea to put oxiclean on scalp but their is hope in elimating them.

Based on info red 9 years ago red led’s decrease circulation. Many sites claim led and lasers will give similar benefit but not always. I personally experimented with red led’s and did not like them. Green yellow infrared were all fine for other non hair loss purposes but red led not so good in my experience and study vacked up experience saying decrease in circulation with red led vs laser.
Best to buy laser. They are cheap nowadays. I’ve bought thes3 and the6 work. They are also less weight than regular laser which is a big plus.

Then can buy a tennis visor and velcro. Can just buy several hundred lasers rather than rotating the lasers around the tennis visor. Some photos to give general idea

Not me but someone who did similar.

Personally nowadays want to transform my laser helmets to include 808 or 810 nm infrared lasers which are helpful to treat neurological problems and for some people who have them also treat psyciatric problems. Personally think this is more of the future than just straight red laser.
