Dr. Russell Blaylock warns against taking glutamine. Opinions?

Ha, I just downed the same Smile
I posted the question at another forum on gut healing, and got a couple of replies:

Dr. Lunch says that magnesium and P5P/B6 help turn glutamine into GABA, and that glutamine is not an exitotoxin. And that if you have anxiety from it, lower the dose. Or stop!

This article is from 10 years ago.

That's an eternity in this field of research.

Consider this whole genetics thing wasn't even off the ground back then.

Bodybuilders use l-glutamine, and for extended periods. And they are not supplementing other things properly or looking at how it affects other chemicals downstream. If anyone's at risk its them.

We use it for other reasons, along with the nutrients needed to process it to something other than excess glutamate, and many times only for a period of time as part of a gut healing protocol.

Dunno what P5P is, or what nutrients are needed to process it...

It should be the active form av B6, Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate.

And yes, those replies you've got seems pretty much nail in da coffin.
