I'm talking through use of substances like topical Vit c, kojic acid, alguronic acid (algae based), glutathione etc. Not stuff like hydroquinone which is a chemical that 100 %inhibits.

I guess a more direct question, is do these substances act in an adaptogenic way where they only inhibiti and lighten skin in problem areas of melanin production or do they inhibit regardless?
