TUDCA and Cholestasis
I couldn't find any discussion here on this supplement, TUDCA (Tauroursodeoxycholic acid). It's supposed to be extremely helpful for cholestasis and liver health. Most of the comments I have found are from anabolic steroid users trying to protect/heal their livers and they are generally very positive. Seems to much more highly rated than the likes of Liv52 and Milk Thistle. I have no interest in following their lifestyle but I guess the info may still be relevant to those with similar bile flow issues.
It's quite an expensive product - willing to pay if it's effective (so fed up trying to fix this debilitating problem) but don't want to waste yet more money. Has anyone taken it - is it worth it? CS, do you have an opinion on it?

Save your money and instead take bile salts along with glycine and taurine. Consume more choline, for instance, a tbl of soy lecithin taken 1-3x a day. If you have calcified stones take 500mg of magnesium along with 3-10mg of silica daily. And don't bother with liver flushes, they only make the situation worse.

Thanks 4039. Is this from a personal experience?
I'm not a fan of internal Epsom Salts anyway, just too harsh. Besides which I don't have the congestion/constipation that every liver article seems to assume you have. Never had a gb attack either. Just recurring cholestasis.

Re: TUDCA and Cholestasis
I speak from personal experience on a fairly modest scale. Especially in the elderly, liver flushes can be dangerous and distend the gallbladder and other vital organs. If you followed my advice and continued eating and supplementing with bitters, you are already likely closer to correcting your problem.
