CS, Best sources of Vitamin K2 MK4?
First off, I want to say that I have been using Decalcify for a couple of years now and it is a fantastic supplement. However, I seem to respond to boron negatively and if I take it more than a couple times a week, I start to become hypothyroid and I notice an increase in estrogen.
Because of this, I would like to find a good k2 mk4 supplement but these are few and far between as most k2 supplements are of the mk7 variety.
Listed as pharmaceutical grade: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dhpc&field-keywords=vitamin+k2+mk4+pharmaceutical+grade
High Vitamin Butter Oil: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Pastures-X-Factor-Vitamin-capsules/dp/B002LZDQD0/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1400881842&sr=1-2&keywords=high+vitamin+butter+oil
This is probably the most natural form of k2 mk4 but it is very expensive and I'm not sure of amount of k2 that is present though it is suppose to be much higher than regular butter.
Should I opt for a synthetic form of k2 or go for a more natural one?

A negative reaction to boron usually means a potassium deficiency, since boron is a major antagonist to boron. I like potassium citrate and potassium chloride purchased in bulk. Potassium's RDA is over 4.7g and almost impossible to get without supplementation.
Is that much potassium good for hair, the answer is unequivocally yes. I do take breaks from all supplementation every several weeks.
I also find vitamin K2 in the form of MK4 way more beneficial for hair growth than MK7. I take 15mg three times daily (since the half-life is extremely short compared to MK7) with a healthful fat for better absorption. There's pretty much no upper limit for MK4. I've had amazing results with 45mg of MK4 daily.
Unfortunately the natural form of MK4 is very cost prohibitive, so we're stuck with the synthetic version for now. I use the below brands. If you wait, Vitamin Research often has great sales.

Decalcify has both MK-4 (5 mg per capsule) and MK-7 60 mg per capsule. They both have different advantages.
In years past I tried some experiments with different forms of potassium. In my case it wasn't fruitful (caused a bad odor).

That's very interesting about the potassium and it makes sense since potassium increases cell sensitivity to thyroid hormones. However Decalcify has potassium in it and I have supplemented with potassium orotate in the past as well. To clarify, I don't think boron is necessarily bad for the thyroid, I think it can actually improve thyroid function by clearing out fluoride, it's just managing the right dose for the individual. For me personally, I think I might be genetically susceptible to copper retention which boron can increase. I think I need more k2 and less boron.
About the MK4, I agree totally.
