CS- Help concerning Digestive Enyme
Hello,
My mother was asking me to buy her a digestive enzyme to support her, shes has severe ulcerative colitis and is sensitive to gluten, she literally has only 5/6 options of food left for her, i feel very sorry for her. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Re: CS- Help concerning Digestive Enyme
Usually these food sensitivities are caused by the disruption over time by the herbicide contained in GMO crops, which is predominately found in soy, corn, canola, sugar beets and wheat.
So the first step is to stop consumption of all GMO foods, this means anything that has a package is quite likely to have the stuff.
In the interim, the GI tract requires rebuilding, so nourishing foods are necessary to heal. Typically there are 3 things discovered in such scenarios. There is damaged villi, which has impaired the ability of nutrients to be absorbed. There is often damage to the intestinal mucosa (protective gut lining). There are loose junctions or to be more specific, larger columns of enterocytes (intestinal absorptive cells) which now permit the passage of undigested protein and other matter into the blood stream. Then there is a dysbiosis or imbalance of microflora, and it could be inflamming the small intestine.
So generally speaking, a lot of animal fat, raw butter, bovine colostrum and homemade yogurt/kefir is very nourishing to the gut wall.
Some 6 months into to the future, the ability to digest food (more varieties), providing they are not GMO should be likely.

Re: CS- Help concerning Digestive Enyme
Not that I have any leaky gut issues, but Is the main problem with undigested protein only when its in cooked/processed form when the body sees it as foreign and attacks it? Is digestion breaking down the aminos in a particular way? What else can cause inflammation if its not digested properly? Just out of curiousity...CausticSymmetry wrote:Usually these food sensitivities are caused by the disruption over time by the herbicide contained in GMO crops, which is predominately found in soy, corn, canola, sugar beets and wheat.

Re: CS- Help concerning Digestive Enyme
If there is a compromise (loose junctions) in the colon, then protein that is not properly broken down into its component amino acids will force the body to produce acids to digest it in the joints.
However, if the intestinal mucosa is healthy, then this barrier will prevent this from occuring. Also, Candida if in excess can cause the body to go into an autoimmune like scenario and attack the tissue, causing these junctions to open.
Killing bacteria indescriminately as many people do will lead to yeast overgrowth. This includes bathing in chlorine pools, etc and of course taking antibiotics.
