I take 400mg Magnesium daily. Do I need to take calcium with that?
As topic says, I was wondering if I need to take calcium with magnesium? Would 400 mg Mag inhibit calcium absorption significantly?

You do need calcium, if not eating decent amounts.
Calcium has many functions beyond the bones. It has certain correlation with gut health, fighting infections there and maintaining the barrier's integrity, reducing inflammation, etc.
It's stupid to demonize it, something that has been done here and everywhere (WITHOUT real scientific evidence or explanations). Even the correlation of calcium with CVD has been disproved to a good degree by various experts.
I would say, don't take calcium because you take magnesium; take it because you need it.
The important thing here is that take ALL the co-factors for utilization, Vit's ADEK (Both K1 and K2, not just K2), boron, magnesium, etc. Also, take care of your health by dealing with infections, inflammation and other factors that are the true causes of CVD and others.
Years ago I checked some research that pointed to a 1:1 ratio of Ca:Mg and this is more or less optimal to minimize problems. However, some people might require more Magnesium (diabetes for instance). Also, the new PHD book mentions a study indicating 700 mg of Ca per day is the level where you reach calcium balance.

For many people calcium in the diet is abundant. If you get enough
vitamin D, you'll have the ability to absorb more calcium from the gut. Magnesium can increase
calcium utilization up to 16 times. Personally I take no calcium as I get enough from food, and
co-factors.
If you're in doubt, take them both (calcium/Magnesium).

The other point: we don't really need much calcium in contrast to what the gov't or mainstream media says.
Proven by studies, reviews and anecdotal evidence.

I am pretty much on a gluten free/dairy free diet, although I will have occasional milk with granola and milk in my coffee. Also the occassional wrap or piece of pizza, but those are few and far between.
Ive been vegetarian since the day I was born 31 years ago. I try to eat all organic and lots of raw veggies(kale, spinach, celery, cucumber are mainstays)/fruits, etc. I also drink a fair amount of almond milk which I know has plenty of calcium.
Just hoping Im getting enough.

Now that you list what you eat, you seem to be getting enough from your diet.
Take into consideration what CS said about vitamin D and the co-factors, if you have them, the less calcium you need.
