Topical O3 for scalp inflammation? Empty Topical O3 for scalp inflammation?

Post  taidan Wed May 30, 2012 2:35 am

Hey everyone, quick questions.

Scalp Itching, burning, flaking and folliculitis that coincides with other my systemic symptoms definitely tells me scalp inflammation plays a role in my hair loss.

Problem is, I can't take fishoil/krill oil because it is too immunosupressive (I have some kind of chronic infection and taking this makes me sick).

Until I get my infection under control, what are everyone's thoughts on using topic flax seed oil for local anti inflammatory action? Are there enough enzymes in the scalp to make the conversion?

my hair loss progression had halted, but i started applying sesame oil topically (45% omega-6 linoleic acid, nil omega-3) and by the end of the month, i had a severe inflammatory scalp (acne-like pimples, red blotches, hair loss). the only explanation i can think of is the conversion of linoleic acid to AA (arachidonic acid) which is a precursor of prostaglandin d-2.
maybe this attests to the presence of enzymes.

i doubt anyone here would have a specific answer to that. flax oil looks promising though! just give it a try. it's not very expensive.

the question is about the presence of enzymes in the scalp.
if i consider my experience with sesame oil, and the inflammation in my scalp as a result, i'd say the conversation takes place for sure.

Hmmm... Sesamin (from sesame oil) is supposed to inhibit AA...so maybe there isn't enough in the oil?

Maybe I should try just sesamin or sesamin and flax?
