Undiluted GFSE on wet hair.. no sting? Anyone else, experiences?
Hey guys-- I've been using undiluted Grapefruit Seed Extract on my hair 3-4 times a day for the last 3 weeks. Since the beginning I've been waiting for the sting everyone has talked about but I've yet to feel it. I massage 10 drops into my hair immediately after the shower in the morning and I wet it at various times a day to reapply.
It seems to help my hair texture a bit, probably due to its oiliness. But, does the lack of sting mean it isn't doing anything for my situation?

zeus, I just don't know what to expect with GSE.
I'm planning on trying it soon, topically just like you. Will let you know.
Hopefully this doesn't dry hair like mag oil and other stuff.

LittleFighter,
Grapefruit seed extract definitely can dry out your hair. You can apply full strength along your hairline to help avoid this. Diluted in water works but full strength is "much" better. You can also apply vinegar and grapefruit seed extract together for possibly even better results. Also, leave the grapefruit seed extract in for at least an hour before washing off.
I should also mention that with the varying levels of results, I can't help but wonder if it has something to do with the different brands of grapefruit seed extract where some are better than others. I personally used Nutribiotic and is a good brand I've used for years.
Grapefruit seed extract is very acidic which will have the effect of decalcifying .... take before and after pictures as you may get some regrowth.

Ah well at least I'm using a good brand, I'm on the Nutribiotic one also.
jdp-- In your opinion is there a maximum amount of time someone should use it for? As in, are there any side effects to watch out for? So far the effect its had on my hair quality is actually more moisturizing than drying, which seems counter-intuitive but I can't complain about that.

zeus,
There are no side effects with grapefruit seed extract other than dry hair.

I got my GSE today, few question if someone can help me:
1) Do I need to wet my hair/scalp before applying it?
2) Can I leave it in for as long as I want, or are there limits?
3) How often should I apply this for good results(decalcification, fungus control etc.)?
I'll use this stuff internally as well for the next week(5x15 drops), if I experience something I'll let you know!
