Why does my scalp sting when I sweat?
Hi All,
I am still continuing with my hair experiment of the big 6 plus a topical garlic and castor oil mixture. I can say that I no longer have any shiny scalp issues at all. So far however, I am not convinced that without wounding my mixture can achieve anything else. I intend to give the mixture three months regardless, so I have turned my attention to other things in the mean time.
One thing that bugs me is when I exercise and get really sweaty my scalp stings, like lime juice on a paper cut. I realise sweat might cause stinging due to salt etc, but there is a night and day difference between my scalp and face. The difference is literally on that divide between forehead and scalp which I suspect is marked by the end of the galea.
Why does my scalp sting, is it natural, does the stinging relate more to sweat or to increased blood flow? Is this predominantly a phenomena of balding people as it seems worse in my balding areas...
Any ideas?

Re: Why does my scalp sting when I sweat?
gbp2000 - It could be a scalp psoriasis or a type of scalp rosacea. If either are true there are natural ways to counter it.

Re: Why does my scalp sting when I sweat?
Hi Caustic thanks for that.
When I was younger I also suffered from painful hair. I used to hate the wind! The areas that hurt were usually my temples, which are now gone. I also used to suffer from migraines. I havn't had either for the last ten years, but I wonder if there is a connection to the stinging?

gbp2000 - If it happens to be Rosacea, this is associated with less than optimal stomach acid, which is also associated with the presence of Helicobacter Pylori. There's also a casual role H. Pylori plays in Psoriasis as well.

Would recommend eradication of H. Pylori and taking a natural source of B-Complex such as Brewer's yeast.
My favorite way to address H. Pylori is Sulforaphane

If digestion is poor, it would be advisable to either take a good probiotic, as gut flora could be a complication of the underlying problem.
