ElmoSuper8 wrote:Thanks CS, how much protein do you take everyday? Is it all organic?
So is milk only A2 if it's raw/ organic and unpasteurized? I mean, if I got organic goat's milk which was pasteurized is that any good?
Cheers
I don't eat the "best diet" by a long shot..and what I have observed in many is that diet is extremely variable, due to individual tolerances.
So it is a bit of an exploration to determine what foods go well/or are tolerated.
Because of the expense of raw milk, I usually just opt for pizza (not suitable for many), but also Greek yogurt works too (with the honey in it for taste).
Growdamnit - So the real question might be, are you open to non-vegan sources of protein powders? If your albumin level were to be on the low side, this would be a change to consider.

So back in the day, when you were losing the follicle fight, did you ever feel that dairy had an inflammatory effect on your scalp?

Yes, diary from A1 beta-casein in pasteurized milk.

Re: Why am I still losing?
So, in your opinion would you expect full fat Greek Yoghurt (organic and pasteurized) to cause scalp inflammation? I know you say it is handled by the gut better than pasteurized milk because of the cultures, but I'm just wondering about scalp.
Also, by the same token, would you expect Goat's cheese to cause scalp inflammation? I'm guessing not because I think you said it's A2.
Thanks

A1 (the bad type of milk) is problematic. Beyond that many people can tolerate cheese or yogurt even from A1 cows. But those with diary sensitivities will be better off seeking A2 sources for those foods.

Re: Why am I still losing?
Ok, apparently Goat's and sheep's milk is free from BCM-7; do you think it's BCM-7 (from cow's milk A1) that causes inflammation in the scalp?

I could speculate on it, however I cannot say for certain.
This is a milk hypothesis

Re: Why am I still losing?
Ok, thanks.
Sorry to harp on about it, but was I right in my understanding of your earlier point when I concluded -
" are you saying that full fat, Greek yogurt lowers 11-Beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1, thus being a positive for hair loss because both cortisone and cortisol are lowered? Or have I misunderstood?"
Cheers

Also, I see on here to avoid nuts, but peanut butter was such a calorically dense protein source. I eat a lot of coconut oil to acoid PUFA damage, so is it worth giving up as a vegan? My diet choices are coming to a cul de sac.

If you try the yogurt route, most of the yogurts out there seem to fulfill the politically correct notion of low-fat, which is not the best way. It's better to get as close to natural as possible, so that the calcium will work properly. That's in a full fat, high protein format, such as a full fat, Greek Yogurt. A2 Milk (Goat's milk is another avenue)

On the topic of yogurt... I just realised the 'greek' yogurt I've been buying is actually 'greek style' yogurt. Not the same thing! Don't know how I missed this

I feel terrible about myself. I bought yogurt and it goes against my beliefs. Very hard to wager this or hair.

Do you honestly think eating yogurt for breakfast will stop your hair loss and create regrowth?

After all the diet changes, oils, topicals, supplements, and years of dealing with hair loss, I feel like I have most of it dialed in and there will be one tweak to kickstart.

if you were kidnapped at birth, and raised by a native tribe in the Amazon jungle ,
would you have lost hair due to lifestyle and diet ?
no
it's not genetic

Genetics can be an excuse for some things, especially after your bones fuse. But in light of epigentics, it's mostly a copout and sometimes demonstrates a lack of discipline and knowledge.
Can you regrow your hair using natural means in the face of major glycation? I believe so, but perhaps not reliably or completely and it's involving. Yet... can you vastly improve the thickness and density of existing hair? Absolutely and it's not as hard as people think either, even in the elderly.

So you're having success? What are your methods?

If by success you mean making my trimmer motor work extra hard, I'd say yes. All of my methods are outlined on this very forum going back almost six years.

Not to press it but I couldn't really find it with a search and I'm curious, what key words should I use please? I'm also curious

This forum has a lousy search function, tbh. Use Google instead. A number for my name (intentionally) makes searches especially easily. I posted on a wide variety of subjects throughout the years.

iuyy i would argue this point in light of the transgenerational epigenetic inheritence studies coming out:

nice package of it all:
