Pumpkin Seeds
Hey, quick question!
I recently bought a bag of pumpkin seeds unsalted, no other ingredients listed. Sounds good right?
The catch is that it says that there is 10g of trans fat per serving. WTF? Trans fat? This is from one of those bulk bins, it's not processed and from a big company.
Label error or should I just toss them away?

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
Icanbeatthis - There are some trans-fats found in nature that are actually healthy. One example is Trans-oleic acid.
But the transfats in this case of the pumpkin seeds, assuming that they were roasted is the naturals fats they contain through cooking transformed them into Trans-fats.
The package should state if they are roasted or raw, but not sure how to tell without it.

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
So do you think I should go for it? Realisticaly how bad would 1 smallish bag be?

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
What brand are they and where did you get them?
Pumpkin seeds should not contain trans fats and I would probably not touch them... but them again I'm a trans fat-phobic.

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
It sounds like they were "roasted" in some sort of oil.
