Heard a fascinating podcast on RadioLab about Parasites: http://www.radiolab.org/2009/sep/07/

As a lifelong cat owner, the most interesting segment to me was the one on Toxoplasma. Then I read this article, which was even incredible: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2012/03/how-your-cat-is-making-you-crazy/8873/?single_page=true

I'm going to get tested for Toxoplasma, but it seems the only treatments are conventional medications: http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/treatment.html

Unfortunately, the treatment's effectiveness aren't guaranteed either. Are there any natural treatments anyone knows of?

I'd be interested in hearing about any treatments too.

(I own cats and a few years ago had a lump removed that was toxoplasmosis induced)

Can zappers get rid?

I posted this on Healthyfixx as well:

Two relatively unknown natural treatments have been shown effective for toxoplasmosis. A solution of 0.15% H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) in saline is injected (intravenous) works. The main problem is that whatever reason (FDA), it is no longer legal in many areas despite the only byproduct is water.

The body naturally secretes H2O2 from the white cells in small amounts. In this manner, it is more potent. The same thing occurs when very high doses of IV ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) are introduced.

There is also Photoluminescence therapy, which is available in some areas.

One can always use a nebulizer to administer the H202 as opposed to IV.

That was my curiosity too. In humans, the parasite apparently embeds itself in brain tissue and creates hard cysts that are impenetrable by things like antibiotics.
