Safe/Normal Mercury Levels
My mother has 8 or 12 amalgams in her mouth. She had a mercury test done and her levels were in the acceptable range. I think that alot of numbers they use as guidelines are out of whack. CS what do you think is the 'Normal' range, and when does it start causing problems?

Re: Safe/Normal Mercury Levels
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a safe level of mercury. One atom of mercury kills one cell.
The EPA and other agencies have suggested "safe" levels for many toxic metals, however toxicity occurs at levels are lower than a fraction of these levels.
Mercury challenges the immune system, and when food is eaten, or gum chewed, or hot liquids consumed, mercury vapor is increased substantially.

Re: Safe/Normal Mercury Levels
With 8-12 Amalagams she is under sufficient toxic load to be worried. Mercury tests aren't always accurate or indicative of the full toxicity she is experience because much of the mercury is probably trapped in tissue or other organisms such as bacteria and fungus. CS is right though, any test showing mercury levels is bad.
