Chlorine in water, but no flouride Empty Chlorine in water, but no flouride

Post  tooyoung Mon May 02, 2011 1:50 am

A year or so ago I checked the website that provides my areas water and found it had no flouride which I was happy about, so I kept drinking the water. I found out it did contain chlorine though.

I've been checking out reverse osmosis filters and they are pretty expensive for me at the moment. I was wondering, as there is no flouride in the water, just chlorine and metals, could I get by on a Brita water filter and a vitamin c filter for the shower? Could I fill up bottles from the shower to get it even cheaper?

Thanks.

Cold showers will do. For drinking, you can simply fill your tapwater in open containers and leave it for 1-2 days...

Are these derived from flowing natural streams with chlorine added or from a city water source?

Tap water with chlorine added as a disinfectant.

I noticed on the morning star humic and fulvic acids, that it says to take in nonchlorinated water, is it dangerous to take humifulvate in chlorinated water?

The Brita water filters claim to remove lead, chlorine, aluminium etc... But don't say how much they remove. Could I get by on a Brita water filter and taking cold showers only?

Brita filters are easier to get in the UK, do they get rid of chlorine and lead effectively? I'm getting used to cold showers so won't need a shower filter as urgently.
